If was either Kell Brook, or NO fight at all. Which would you prefer?

Well...we know he can make the weight because he said he could. 8 weeks is a standard training camp, I think. Of course, some do longer camps.

Like I said good business...sh!t fight (as far as a needed legacy impacting matchup...for GGG anyway).

I am not sure how much "negotiating" he really did with those other 4 MWs, if the Brook fight was made that soon after. And I hear Brook got a deal that BJS couldn't get. I found that interesting.

When compared to Canelo-Khan it's probably worse. Khan has never fought that high in weight. But, it was basically a 1 division move up against a guy who has fought either natural LMWs or WWs his entire career. Brook is moving up 2 divisions to fight a natural MW who is one of the (arguably THE hardest) hardest punchers in the sport at his best weight and has fought MWs his entire career, afaik.

Anyone disagree here? If we are honest all of us here would have taken the Brook fight.

Doesn't change the fact that the Brook win would do nothing for GGG's legacy - no arguments there - it's basically free money GGG is taking.

    Annoying? yes. Disappointing? very.

But I'm pretty sure all of us would have taken it.

the saddest part is there are some of you so desperate for lowercase gee to be validated that you actually think this was some sort of last minute desperation attempt...like k2 was painted into a corner and they came out with this

brook had been floating this idea out since the winter.....theyve had this in the works for many months and some of you are like "he had a date reserved and there was only 9 weeks left for him to find someone" blah blah...i mean...you guys couldnt be any more sad or desperate...either that or you are just plain dumb

Both Hearn and Loeffler said it was last-minute, so I'll believe them.

Yes Brook had been floating the idea but Loefller said no b/c Brook not a MW and Hearn didn't think Brook was serious.

so loeffler said no because brook is not a mw but instead of fighting a mw or even a jr mw...or a super mw...theyre fighting a welterweight? as if literally no one from 154-168 was available? cmon guy...dont get gullible

loeffler knows this fight isnt acceptable and the only way to spin it is to make it look like a last minute/last ditch effort for an opponent

I've always said it was a bad fight. I won't be giving GGG credit when he (probably) knocks Brook out, and I'll be cheering for Brook.

But seriously, it was a last-minute thing. Both Hearn and Loeffler said so. If it was just Loeffler there would be room to doubt, sure, but Hearn also said so.

To keep the Sky PPV and HBO contract date of Sep. 10 it had to be a Matchroom fighter, otherwise GGG could have fought a bit later instead, probably in America.

Hearn and Loeffler both are happy with this fight and both want it very much...them both giving thr same story says and means nothing to me ....if anything it says "hey man here's what well tell them but we need to be consistent"

This fight didn't just materialize out of nowhere "hey ya know what eubank isn't gonna happen I got a crazy idea"....haha cmon man ....I mean i guess u believe arum pulled that Josh Clottey in Dallas fight out of his bum while he was supposed to be trying to make a floyd fight?

This thing was months in the works ....this is how they have to spin it in order to save face for k2 and lowercase gee

So to summarize, what you are saying is:

Hearn and Loeffler both wanted GGG - Brook for months

and what I am saying is:

Brook was a last minute replacement for Eubank.

I can sort of see where you're coming from, but how do you explain the silence from the Eubanks? Surely at least one of them would've called out K2 if they felt they were being played with? The Eubank stock has gone down massively because of this saga, surely they'd be up in arms, protesting, if Hearn and Loeffler both wanted GGG - Brook for months?

The silence from the Eubank's can be explained as being "good boys" and playing along

Remember when floyd and pac were negotiating years ago...and then it broke off when pac said he was fighting Clottey in dallas? Floyd was left without a fight and desperately needed someone .....berto/Shane mosley was signed .....Berto being a haymon guy played good boy and stepped out (using the Haiti earthquake as his out) so that Haymon's main guy could get the big name he needed

Eubank's is just playing good boy for matchroom...I'm sure they'll keep paying him well for domestic level guys like doran and taking care of him .....he's just a name that was used .....and at one point, a couple weeks ago, eubank claimed he'd never even seen a contract

Brook. I like GGG active so he stays fresh, but i'm only interested
and will only watch when he moves to 168 or Can-yellow becomes
    a man.

Schlongmaster needs to adjust his tinfoil hat. His conspiracy theory is about as plausible as little green men.

If Golovkin wanted Brook they could have organised it upfront and saved themselves the hassle of Eubank Snr's infamous unpleasant ego trips.

still on and on about me...talking about me..mentioning my name

its far from a conspiracy theory....eubank did tweet and claim he never had a contract put in front of him

its simple logic really...which is obvious now as to why the concept escapes you....making a fight with a welterweight "upfront" is not a good look for lowercase gee....hes already catching heat for it now from boxing fans and thats off of the idea that this is a "last minute" deal.....think about how it would look if he said "this is the fight weve wanted since we beat up dominic wade".....

    1) Good to see that you realise the magnitude of the schlong you are
    2) CES definitely had a contract in front of him and he chose to play prima donna with his son's career
    3) If they wanted the Brook fight then Golovkin wouldn't have publically, on camera, have said that Brook was "too small" while shaking his head.

    FACTS:

    4) Hearn is Eubank's promoter, not GGG
    5) GGG had already signed weeks ago to fight Eubank
    6) Brook was the one that again said he wanted to fight Golovkin
    7) Hearn pushed Brook as a replacement
    8) Golovkin has never ducked anybody before, and has fought tougher guys than Eubank. He is still chasing better guys than Eubank in Ramirez and Canelo. WTF would he dodge a guy that most people say has no chance against him, for a huge payday, for? :nut
