Everyone whose negotiated with Eubank has said the same thing.

He's got delusions of grandeur, which for anyone following the career of Sr, isn't a massive surprise.

I'm not defending the **** fight as such, I'm saying the blame for this mess needs to be appropriately distributed.

I blame Eubank for making diva demands.

But that's no justification for this fight. The only justification is the same as Canelo had, the paycheck for little risk. Which I great if your a fan of a fighters bank balance, but I ain't.

It's such a poor excuse, Team GGG simply weren't willing to negotiate with the Eubanks when they had a Kell Brook shaped carrot dangling in front of their noses.

That's the thing I don't get. Why does Eubank think he has the leverage to negotiate terms?

He has zero world class victories, barely holds a world ranking and has lost to only top ten fighter he's faced.

This was far from a super fight so I don't understand the negotiation tactics.

Yea, probably no fight. You don't go picking on freshmen when you can't find a senior to fight using HS as an ana-logy. I also don't find it heroic for Brook and Khan to take a fight purely on money knowing they are gonna lose. It's a money fight for profit purely. It's not a sport anymore but a transaction, not cool.

Far from a superfight? Whatever you think of the fight itself, in monetary terms it's definitely a superfight, just look at the size of the purses that were being talked about. A PPV fight in a huge sold out arena, that's the very definition of a superfight.

The fight is being held in the UK, not Kazakhstan so the Eubanks probably feel like they are the ones selling the tickets and PPVs over there, in that sense they are the 'A-side'. So of course they have leverage to negotiate terms.

Hence why I said delusions of grandeur. If Eubank felt he was the A-Side he was kidding himself.

He has no world class victories. He barely has a world ranking. He has lost to only world ranked opponent he's faced. His last fight was a British title fight.

If he felt he was the A-Side he was kidding himself.

I don't believe it was CEJ, I believe it was CES.

Did you completely ignore 90% of what I just said and misread the 10% you didn't?

I didn't say the Eubanks believed themselves to be the 'A-side' (let's stop using that stupid term), all I said is they probably feel like they deserve to be able to at least negotiate, as the fight is being held in their country and the casual viewer in the UK buys fights off the back of a big UK name. If you put GGG-Jacobs on in London only hardcore fans would be in attendance, and it certainly wouldn't warrant a PPV.

I agreed with what you said, but why didn't K2 ask for Callum Smith instead of Brook? Smith is:
    - a good 168 contender,
    - promoted by Matchroom too,
    - pretty well known in the UK (BBC cover all his fights),
    - a credible opponent unlike the too small Brook.

He doesn't have another fight lined up either.

I didn't really pay attention to what you said. Wouldn't say I ignored but I certainly skimmed over it.

Obviously there was negotiation to a point but when the final contract was refused it makes me question the motive. Obviously Golovkin is the big name and the higher ranked opponent.

I think CES has delusions of grandeur. If he wanted the fight he should have agreed to the final contract. If he believes he deserves better he's delusional, imo.

Maybe he'll fight Connor Benn for the British title next. Might make some coin that way.

I'd prefer Golovkin move to 168 rather than make deals with Welterweights

Did you see the final contract? Do you know what terms were offered?
