So how can you possibly say whether they should have accepted or not? Are you just trolling me now?

You seriously don't give welterweights credit for being willing to fight highly dangerous opponents just because they will be well paid for doing so? What do boxers have to do for you to give them credit?

It still is both a sport and a business, same as it always has been. Same as all professional sports really.

I also think you severely underestimate some boxer's level of confidence. I'd be very surprised if Khan and Brook didn't truly believe they had a chance of winning, especially Khan against Canelo.

I don't believe this will happen until GGG breaks the record.

Leonard went up after retirement and beat Hagler, he was a heavy underdog.

Not saying Brook is Leonard, but GGG is no Hagler either. Brook is daring to be great and there is nothing wrong with that.

I don't like the fight, but this close to the fight date and Eubank Sr being Eubank Sr, I'm not sure what other options would have been available.

Would you rather see a Wade 2.0 or Brook have a go? Neither are ideal at all.

Something to consider when comparing this to Canelo-Khan: GBP actively scoped out Khan. This fight was supposed to be against a legit MW. It doesn't make it right but I think context is paramount.

As people have said, the odds are closer than expected. In fact I think Brook has the best odds at beating GGG since maybe the Proksa fight going by the bookies. Does that somehow make it more justifiable? I don't know.

What it confirms to me - and as people have said for a while but I chose to ignore it - is that GGG/K2 are more about the money than us fans like to admit. That's why he won't move up to 168; he loses the chance of the Canelo fight. It blows massively.

Will I still pay money to watch the fight? Absolutely, because I am an absolute scum bag sadist who still enjoys watching GGG fight.

GGG would beat the **** out of hagler. The guy went life and death with a former lightweight in Duran who is more of a brawler than a technical boxer, Golovkin would never struggle with a lightweight, Hagler did. Also Durans abilities to block punches with his face will render him a KO loss to Golovkin in the first round. Your American fighters are just hype jobs.

At some point you must say f@ck it!!! I agree. And if G can't get the other belt holders at 160 to fight him he must say that very thing and move up to 168 or above! I'm getting damned tired of G fans saying no body wants to fight at 160 but he doesn't want to move up because he wants all the belts! Bullsh@t!!! The last thing he should have done is pull up a welter weight! I don't care if Brook comes in the ring at 200 pounds, it just doesn't look good for the most feared fighter in the world, who can't get anyone in his division to fight him, to bring up a smaller man instead of moving up to the next division! In all honesty, how proud would you G fans be if 3G came out and said , since he can't find anyone at 160 to fight, he will be moving up to 175 to face the winner of Ward Kovalev? That would be what a true champion warrior would do when options are thin, not bring up a man 2 divisions lower than him. G fans be like:smh

Duran is an ATG! No comparison to 3G! Way better than G, no argument to be had! Durans career is light years ahead of G! Durans career after the second Leonard fight is much better than 3G's. You come on here and make a foolish statement like this! You may be able to say that once G gets some serious scalps on his record but until that happens STFU!

A little side note....Is it really that bad of a thing to go "life and death" with a guy like Duran? Styles make fights remember fool! Hearns sparked Duran with ease and got sparked by Hagler!

lol at putting down Hagler and Duran, of all people the arguably top three ever in their divisions. How to utterly destroy your credibility.

He's wasting his time trying to break Bernard's record.

Its Hopkins combined career at MW and LHW that is putting him in the history book. And still Hopkins at far greater wins at MW than GGG ever will

GGG will never even see the hall of fame the way he is going. His record is a joke and 3 more years of the same won't change anything.

The longer he hangs around fighting bums and welter weights - the more likely it is he gets his ass whooped when he takes on one of the champs at SMW.
