Cotto used to have the weight advantage against Floyd at 147 because Floyd didn't blow up after the weight in. Now given how big Floyd looked in his last fight he doesn't have that.

COTTO will be the loser here....he will be chasing a running mayweather for 12 rounds. Mayweather will throw an average of 1 punch every 30 seconds and scores.......thats how he always win.

shane does horrible with boxer, he dose better with fighter coming directly at him. I also think everyone is over rating shane's margarito win. margarito style was custom made for shane, margarito wades in willing to take 5 punches to land one. what margarito didn't count on is that shane is stronger then he was on the inside and walking forward on shane with no D or head movement is a wrap for the opponent.

Cotto was able to beat shane because Cotto had better head movement, and 2 the fact that shane venerable to the right hand, because he stand straight up he drops his hands and tries to pull straight back from the right and he gets tagged every time. Cotto was able to exploit this kink in Shane armor, Richardson was able to improve it some what, but even margartio was able to find shane with quite a few rights.

Shane is Black but he has a Mexican style only he is extremely athletic, meaning he needs you in front of him in oder to get his hands off. box him from angles via winky and the late Vernon Forrest and he gets very frustrated and discouraged.

There's nothing that Cotto brings that Floyd can't handle. Floyd can beat him up on the outside, and he can fight him on the inside as well. In the middle of the ring, Cotto gets schooled. His best bet would be to force Mayweather to the ropes and win on activity. Unfortunately for Cotto, Mayweather has excellent footspeed, and is very comfortable fighting going backwards or against the ropes. He also has great footwork and can avoid laying on the ropes for too long.

Cotto's just too slow on his feet to beat Mayweather. As good as Cotto is, I struggle seeing him keeping this fight close.

Floyd may chop him up but the Cotto pre-Margarito would give Floyd a very good fight.

I think Floyd is gonna have a very hard time against Cotto. And not for the same reasons everyone else here has suggested. I think his defense is gonna drive Floyd crazy. Cotto has a tight guard and will come in with his pekaboo stance into close range either/or corner him. The trick to that is that it will make Floyd uncomfortable and force him to throw or retreat. At that close range Cotto can nulify Mayweather's speed using something he does very well. Moving his head. Something no one does against him to throw him off. Once Mayweather punches to try and get Cotto off of him, that will be Cotto's oppurtunity to counter because Mayweather won't be in his defensive posture. Being that Mayweather doesn't hit hard, Cotto won't worry about coming in. On top of the fact that Cotto keeps his hands up so he doesn't get caught with something. Not to mention all Mayweather throws are a few jabs, a few leaping hooks, a few right hands, and an occasional uppercut which makes him rather perdictable. If Cotto can can come in and mix up his boxing with his ability to run fighters ragged, he can beat Mayweather and considering how strong Cotto is and how big he wil be against him, he should be able to execute a similar stragedy.

    JAB JAB JAB
Cotto has a very stiff jab. Ask iron chinned Clottey. It put him down and also almost again in the 12th.

Great left hook for when PBF does his shoulder roll.
    Good power in both hands.
    Pretty good speed.

PBF looked awesome against JMM but i think that was also a case of JMM not being able to hurt him and being tentative about being dropped again.

Cotto is never afraid to get hurt and honestly i dont think PBF can take Cotto out. Cottos chin although called china here i think is very very solid.

Cotto can cut the ring better that the other fighters that Floyd has faced . . . he has more power and killer body punch . . . that spells disaster for Floyd.

if cotto utilizes his jab effectively and lands some good counters, i can see him coming away with a close win.

hes good at beating boxers, even real fast ones...look at his win over judah.

he also wont be hurt by anything floyd throws at him, unless floyd really goes after him, which he wont....because its floyd.
