This would be an AWESOME fight to see. In fact..."we" (fans) have been waiting for this fight for quite some time.

But the reality is...Floyd Mayweather is the Most Superior "BOXER" in the sport today...PERIOD!!!!

His ability to adjust is FANTASTIC!!! Castillo pressured him...Once Floyd adjusted in the later rounds of the first fight and the "entire" second fight...HE PICKED HIM APART.

Hatton pressured him for the first 4 rounds...After that...IT WAS "TARGET" PRACTICE!!!

And as good and as STRONG as Cotto is...He has some HUGE holes in his defense and he gets hit ALOT!!!

Great fight to watch...But in the end....Floyd by Late round TKO 9-12.

As a Cotto fan I agree with you, with the exception of Cotto losing by TKO, at his best Cotto will lose by unanimous decision somewhere along the lines of 9-3 Mayweather or 8-4 if one wants to reach for an extra round for Miguel.

I wouldn't expect Cotto to win, never have, but he would fare better IMV than some people are probably thinking. It's not just about what Cotto would have to do to beat Mayweather, it's about what Mayweather would have to do to beat Cotto. And to beat Cotto, history tells us, you have to be highly offensive. Cotto is a scoring machine, throws plenty of punches, and works the head and body as well as anyone out there. Floyd being the defensive minded fighter that he is would give Cotto plenty of opportunity to breathe and do his thing. Can't tell you how many guys have tried to outslick Cotto and play it cute. Cotto is intelligent and extremely aware of himself at every moment. I think it would be a potentially close decision win for Mayweather.

I think Cotto gets past PAC...but Floyd outboxes him easy.

I really enjoyed seeing Cotto mow down Quintana. Nothing against Quintana, but alot of people didn't think Miguel would win that fight and he smashed the critics like he smashed Carlos with that one.

For Mayweather it was probably the Ndou fight or the Corley fight. He gunned it out a bit more.

    You, B?

Very true. When have you ever seen Cotto get outboxed? If you try to outbox Cotto and people that try to jab him in and out have always eaten a left hook afterwards. Cottos ring IQ isnt as low as people make him it out to be.

For Floyd I have to say his beatdowns of Genaro and Corrales are my two favorite performances of his, I just love watching the shorter fighter whoop on the tall fighters.

For Miguelito I have to say Quintana like you and his destruction of Kelson Pinto, I just love seeing tall fighters get they ass whooped by short fighters. It's that David and Goliath appeal I guess.

Trying to outbox Cotto is straight up stupid, IMO. I want to see this fight happen just so people can see how well he would deal with Mayweather. Floyd is obviously a defensive master, but Cotto is an offensive master himself. It would be close, IMV.

The main problem for Cotto in this fight is that he has always been a sucker for the overhand/straight right which just happens to be Floyd best punch. Cotto is good at blocking the jab and left hooks, but not the straight right or uppercut.

    :good

Smart money is on Mayweather if this fight happens but you have to be delusional to think its a blowout like some people say. Your right about Cottos offense. I believe OFFENSIVELY Cotto is one of the most complete fighters today. The way he cuts off the ring is impressive. He good at trapping the opponent when he is the one pressuring.
