...then Pac haters, state your case that Pacquiao's resume is WORSE than the #10 Whitaker's with actual FACTS and COMPARE the two so you have an argument.

If you can prove that, then compare Pac's resume with The Ring's #11 All-Time fighter, Carlos Monzon.

Then if you can disprove Pacquiao having a better resume than Monzon, move on to #12, Rocky Marciano.

Then keep going down the line until you find someone who's resume is worse than Pac's and then stop there.

    18. Julio Cesar Chavez

Again, I'm not one of those blind Pac fans who thinks he could knock out Tyson and Ali in one night. I've been following this sport a long time and understand that people who actually know what they're talking about could make a valid argument for Monzon, Charles, Moore, et al. having a better resume. I just disagree and if you can come up with a legit debate, I'll come back with some points.

But back it up. Be fair and use facts rather than the verbal diarrhea and disrespect for the sport that I see on this board.

If you can't do any of those, then SHUT THE F UP AND START ANOTHER STUPID THREAD LIKE THE LITTLE GIRLS ON THIS BOARD ABOUT WHO'S DUCKING WHO!!!

not a single reply...shows the amount of actual boxing knowledge on this board.

The Pac haters and Floyd fans are sissies for saying "Oh he's not Top 10." Why sissies?

    (silence)

I think before a fighter from today's era can crack the top ten pfp he needs to fight more! Just going once or twice a year is not enough. I know that Pac fought alot before his rise to superstardom but now that it has been attained he needs to consistently fight the best more than once a year in a mega-fight.

The truth of the matter is that thrashing an aged and hollow shell of ODLH and a clearly outclassed and over the hill Hatton don't do much to cement his legacy. The Cotto victory on the other hand was legit.

Should Pacquiao beat Mayweather, he'd be a top 20 guy. Throw in victories against maybe; Mosley, and a thrid showdown with JMM and then we can get down to business

A former flyweight champ to stopping a top 3 welter - that says it all.

Again, the same argument against Pacquiao. Can you go down from Whitaker at #10 and compare their resumes? Then get back to me.
Otherwise that's not much of an argument, rather speculation.

And since I'm guessing you're a Mayweather fan, does Mayweather deserve credit for beating DLH while Pac gets none?

I'm not really a PBF fan per se, but I do respect his boxing ability and work ethic. Also, no one has beaten him and he's developed this unwarranted cult following. Just watch ESPN and listen to the nonsense that these "experts" espouse calling Floyd the best in the world. To the uneducated an unbeaten record is the most hallowed thing in sports. *I'm going somewhere with this*

Now, when it comes to Pacquiao being considered one of the greats he needs that true trademark win that will leave in indelible mark on the minds of boxing fans and those just casually following the sport. His fight with Floyd can be the next superfight that defines a generation; think, Ali-Frazier, Hagler-Hearns, Louis-Schmelling. People who don't know sh!t about boxing know about Ali-Frazier, hence the reason Ali is so often branded as the greatest of all time.

If Pacquiao can beat Floyd, convincingly would be nice, then he'd be in the top 20 pfp based solely on fame, hype, and popularity. Now I know this isn't the conventional road to greatness but Pac already has paid his dues and boxing fans know this. It's time for the rest of the world to catch up. and when they do, he'll get his dues.

Pretty sure if Pac beats Floyd there will be no more doubters. Personally, I still hold a grudge agaisnt Pac for not rematching Marquez immediately.. Feels more like he was given a decision, rather than winning that fight. There are those who are going to say he beat a shop worn Hatton, an over the hill ODLH.. This victory over Cotto should silence all the doubts. Cotto is a very game fighter with a good enough mix of boxer puncher/pure boxing style to beat Mosely convincingly.. I think because of this victory, he should fight Floyd next.

Nothing more for him to prove. Manny is a living legend. He got away with being a one trick pony for a long time with his fast jab left cross combo.. Picking up that right hook, and actually having good footwork has made him an incredible fighter.. And, I'll admit, I've done some Pac hating myself.. But you can't deny his ability to carry both power, speed, and durability. Guy is amazing.

IMO, he doesn't have to beat Floyd. Not like Pac was ever looked big at any weight class. Where you can always argue guys like Floyd and Oscar really were weight draining while they could get away with it early in their careers.. What Manny is doing is more akin to what Roy Jones Jr. did when he made his way from middle all the way up to Heavy..

Great Career, he's not getting any younger.. I'd like to see him fight Floyd and then get the Marquez fight over with.
