Whyte is what you would get if you designed the best boxer that Wilder would KO in devastating fashion.

Whyte would have gone in there prepared to go to war. I think he would have been brutally knocked out.

He only does well against boxers without a big punch due to his heart and work rate.

Whyte's chin is borderline glass, he has zero head movement and his defence is very leaky. That's a bad combination when fighting Wilder. I guess he could get lucky and catch Wilder first, but that would have to be his best left hook, since from what I've seen, he's not the best finisher.

Whyte is a more proven boxer - he doesn't look great on the eye, but he's still got a better resume than Wilder (who also doesn't look good on the eye) and lightyears better resume than the best boxer that Wilder has beaten...

It's probably hard to look at this objectively because Whyte has declined a fair bit since and Wilder has been toyed with by the first serious fighter he fought.

I suspect Whyte goes in there to go to war, gets in Wilders face (which denies him his range) and gives him a beating.
If Ortiz had put Wilder under significant pressure then Whyte certainly could and probably would. Yes, Ortiz got caught, but there's no saying Wilder would still have been conscious at that point with a harder puncher, which Whyte clearly is.

I'd probably lean 60/40 towards Whyte, if not more than that.

    I wouldn't be too surprised.

    I'd see it more as:

Whyte goes out and beats him up and if he doesn't get the KO himself he gets caught by the end.

This would be exceptionally unlikely to go to cards, both guys have poor chins.

Whyte is a sitting pudding who likes to think he's a banger/brawler

Whyte doesn't fight like that though

He holds he feet and likes to throw with the opponent or on the counter

    Wilder loves sitting ducks.

If Whyte gets forced forward or gets forced in a dogfight at any pace not his own he gases out.

Any version of Wilder would knock out Whyte, Whyte would probably dominate until the moment his defense betrays him and that would be fatal against the fast-handed Wilder who takes advantage of such mistakes...
