Wilder will get credit from me if he shows up in the ring already.

    No.
He will have beaten a faded, almost 40 Povetkin and still..
    AvoiDing the Nichols rematch.
    That being said...

Absolutely. Povetkin is considered one of the best HWs out there if Wilder beats him why wouldn't he get the credit for it? FWIW I like Wilder, even if I still harbour lingering suspicions of mandibular frailty.

I definitely will. Going to another fighter's backyard, a top 5 contender no less and taking him on always deserves respect (ala DeGale).

Still waiting for that chin check though!

A tko6 type 'win' on a cut caused by illegal holds and grazing, no I won't. Although if the wbc order a rematch I know Wilder is not walking away.

    co-sign

It's a kill or be killed fight, and Wilder has to box with the poise he did vs Stiverne and even more intelligently, he has to mix up his shots better soas to hold back the power soas Potvetkin believes himself safe.

If Wilder wins, he's definitely the new HWCoTW in the post K2 era, that is unless Joshua, Parker, Haye, Hughie don't continue to vastly improve and dethrone him.:think:think:think

Yes but I just don't see him winning this fight. He'd have to show an enormous level of improvement since his last fight. The guy that struggled and was getting staggered around the ring by Molina and level on the cards after 8 rounds against Szpilka is going to get chinned quickly.

If he wins of course, if he wins by KO you absolutely have to. Odds are against him winning in Russia though

Deontay would deserve credit for travelling and defending his title abroad, but I wouldnt read too much in Deontay winning against Povetkin.
Povetkin was clearly beaten by Wlad and was in a real tough fight against a blown up CW in Huck.
I would like to have seen Deontay face some of the tougher challenges at HW like Wlad, Haye, Fury

He would get credit for me but everyone is stating that he should for "going to" Russia. He Had to- if he had an option he wouldn't have gone. His team lost the purse bid so it's fight or lose your belt. Still a win in an opponents back yard is impressive.

It's a good win if he pulls it off. He's got tons of doubters, I think he might actually be the underdog, he's traveling to Russia... It'd be a good win.
