    Post of the day! :thumbsup

I was a Povetkin fan before, but after reading your post I am considering becoming a full-blown nut hugger :D

If Wilder beats him, how can you not give him credit? :?

Why are you trying to convince a member of the white power crew? He doesn't listen to logic, if GGG fought a Povetkin caliber guy in MW, he'd be saying that Povetkin is better than Ali.

As long as it's a legit win, no controversy then yes he'll get plenty of credit from me. He'll finally have a good win on his resume other than a debilitated Stiverne and proven himself as a genuine world class heavyweight who is a contender to the real champion, Fury. He'd automatically become the number 2 heavyweight in my opinion if he wins.

Doesn't mean that I will give him a pass if he goes on another tour of journeymen for title defences afterwards though. If he wins he should really only have one thing on his mind and that's unification against Fury.

    Brighton Bomber nailed it ^

If Wilder proves to be the real deal, he better not go back to fighting pastry chefs and professional BBQ wing eaters.

He'd get every bit of credit deserved from me, it would take an absolutely immense performance in Moscow. It's just not going to happen, Wilder makes far too many clumsy mistakes that a guy of Povetkin's pedigree will take full advantage of and the gulf in class has been evident in their last few fights. I had Szpilka 5-3 up after the 8th, Wilder was getting outboxed, by a former CW who has been knocked down twice by Mollo, such were the nature and frequency of his errors. I like Wilder, he seems a really nice chap but to beat Povetkin will take a performance twice as good as any he's ever produced. And while it's easy to agree he has the physical attributes to win the fight, I don't think he has the experience or discipline to conjure that up on a hostile night in Russia with Sasha buzzing around him applying pressure at every opportunity.
