You need to rewatch the fight again. While Sanders did do marginally better in the first 3 rounds against a slow fat Rahman, it was hardly a beating. Rahman was competitive and he had Sanders more hurt in the 3rd than he was. By the sounds of it someone even tried to ring the bell early at the end of the 3rd to try and save Sanders.

Suffice to say Sanders at his best was marginally better for 2 maybe 3 rounds than a mid level contender like Rahman and even then it wasn't a fully fit Rahman but a slow overweight Rahman who was coming off a KO loss to Maskaev 6 months before.
