If Wilder is who he says he is he would still take the fight and fight Ortiz

If Ortiz and Povetkin were who they said they are, they wouldn't keep getting popped for PEDs.

Its so simple for wilder to be respected and be on track to unify.Fight Whyte in the UK,he can build his name and get worldwide exposure, then he will get Joshua in the UK or Us.Its a simple route,he can demand he has to get AJ next in the contract.Even Showtime are getting annoyed with lack of high calibre opponents.

uhhh.. This has been one of the bes years for boxing in a long time, and no one else is to blame but Ortiz for this fight not getting made.

Who has Dillian Whyte defeated that makes him the guy to fight to get respect? Chisora, a washed up gatekeeper who himself has no wins of note, by split decision?

Wilder has a November date in Brooklyn. It was vs. Ortiz. Now it's gonna be someone else. Why should he scrap that and go to the UK to fight a nobody?

Ah well the most popular heavyweight in the world is fighting in england and he wants to fight him apparently, better way to build hype than fighting some bum In front of an old man and he's dog in alabama

He's fighting in Brooklyn unless something changes.

I realized AJ is in England. Wilder has actually fought in England before. Him fighting Whyte there would not increase the value or likelihood of a fight with AJ. That's silly.

He shouldn't be forced to face someone who failed a drug test... But he shouldn't use this as an excuse to fight another soft touch... Should cancel the date if he can't get anyone good to replace Ortiz - Hell, he should be begging Hearn to give him the Whyte fight again - Preferably on the Joshua/Pulev undercard.

Boxing is his profession. He does it for a living. He shouldn't have to miss a payday and have to wait several months before getting to work again because the other guy cheated.

Find the best possible opponent under the circumstances and fight. Getting the Stiverne mandatory out of the way isn't an attractive fight, but it opens things up for the unification next so he should do that.

Yes and we're fans - we watch to be entertained... The money these guys make doesn't effect us(some weirdos are obsessed with it and jerk off to how much money some of the bigger names make) Wilder can fight another soft touch, but he's going to receive criticism again as a result. World title holders are expected to fight good competition, if they don't they receive backlash. Wilder is one of the most criticized fighters for a reason. Here he did TRY to fight a world class fighter for once, that should be appreciated - but for me at least that that's not an excuse to go back to fighting soft touches again. If he does that he should be criticized, regardless of the circumstances.

He has to fight Stiverne sooner or later, regardless of what people (correctly) think about Stiverne not being worthy. Might as well get it over with as he's already in training and was fighting on the undercard. It's the best alternative.

Not necessarily... If Stiverne loses to DB he will no longer be the mandatory.

Not for once, he did it against Povetkin and Wawzryk and both times they pissed hot. How can you not feel sorry for him?

It's bull**** and we all know it. If this happened to another fighter, would you criticize him for the same thing?

    3 ****ing times!

Wawzryk is a ****ing joke, that fight would have been a farce had it gone down. Myself and a couple of others on here predicted that Wilder and his team would attempt to cherry pick that joke at some point. I'm glad that fight was canceled. Why should I feel bad about that? Wilder and his team scraped the bottom of the barrel there.... As as a result of the failed test they were actually FORCED into selecting someone who was slightly better. Why should we as the fans feel bad about that one?

Why doesn't wilder just fight him though?

Its clear Ortiz is past it and even for the sake of argument he took been taking these stuff before he didn't look to good in his last 2 outings so why is wilder so afraid?

Many other champions even though the opponent took banned substance said doesn't matter what they take I will still kick their ass wilder doesn't have this courage
