Wouldn't a fight with Miller be his best chance of a US PPV fight? Surely two undefeated American heavyweights fighting for a World Title can do PPV? Then, should Wilder win, he can return to Eddie Hearn saying- "look, we made '$x' from US PPV.....so i demand '$x' against Joshua as i'm bringing in more money". He's in a poor position right now as he has no evidence to suggest he can actually add financial value to a Joshua fight..... So surely he should- a) Take these terms he considers 'low'. b) Improve his financial income to prove he deserves a bigger share.
No cares about the very slow, Human snail, bum Jarrell Miller. Except for Hearn and Joshua bizarrely.
This content is protected Hearn on what he offered Wilder Eddie has apparently offered wilder five times his biggest payday And he is now waiting for their response :counteroffer When You don’t know what the fight will bring him, and you’re getting a percentage of an unknown amount, it’s unknown what you’ll get but they are offering to him a guaranteed —-five times—/ his highest single fight pay. Wilder also needs to keep in mind that Joshua is by far, a main draw of the fight
Wilder will not fight Joshua for any amount of money.....................he will fight Breazeale next, at least he is supposed to, Breazeale is owned by Haymon and was knocked out by Joshua, so he is the perfect opponent!
I can't see Wilder ever fighting on PPV in the US ever, unless it's against Joshua. Wilder has grown his profile in the US but I don't think he's big enough yet to be a PPV draw on his own and honestly I doubt he ever will be. There simply isn't the interest in heavyweight boxing there once was there, likely do to the poor state of boxing in general outside of certain ethnic demographics in the US. The reality for Wilder is all roads lead to Joshua, it's his only option for a big payday. He won't fight Povetkin and that fight would not of paid him half of what has already been offered by Joshua. Haye he never mentions and wouldn't offer him even as much as Povetkin. Fury still isn't a proven draw on his own and likely offers him a fraction of what Joshua has offered him already. Parker no longer has a belt to up his market value and is a similar draw as Wilder, so no big pay day there either. Even if Joshua loses to Povetkin next, Joshua would still be his biggest payday by far. The danger for Wilder isn't if Joshua loses in the meantime as Joshua will always be a PPV fighter in the UK, it's if he loses, because once he no longer has the WBC belt he becomes irrelevant.
I assume one has been made by now as Finkel said they would make one by Saturday. If one hasn't been made we can expect another interview from Hearn very soon saying that once again he's received no offers putting real pressure on Wilder and his team. So I think no news at the moment is good news and it's likely Hearn has received an offer or has been told to expect one soon. Hearn did give them 10 days to respond to his offer and I think that runs out this Friday so I'm sure we'll hear something by the weekend or the following Monday.
He wont take the Miller fight for the same reason he won't fight Whyte. He may lose to either of them. Look at his career, he doesn't take risks. He's the classic example of what's gone wrong with us heavyweight boxing. His career is all about preserving the 0 unbeaten record because the think that's the way to build an audience. Supposedly the networks forced the Ortiz fight on him, perhaps the second decent name on his record and he only took that after the Cuban looked old, shot and slow in his last appearances. Given that Ortiz actually punched back and gave him a scare it will be back to established procedure for his next fight. He will fight a Haymon fighter like Breazeale. No risks till AJ
