It would make a difference to AJ because win or lose Ortiz would still be highly ranked by the WBA.

If he can't get credit for beating King Kong , he'll never get credit for beating anybody. His haters are too far gone at this stage , no coming back for any of them. :laufband:

Lool Povetkin was dropped like 3 times and whilst Wlad was bending the rules and the ref was allowing him, Povetkin was having no success in there and never looked like winning. AJ was lucky to make it through the mid rounds but he came back to claim the stoppage which Povetkin never even looked like doing.

He would have put himself in great standing if he had beaten Wilder, are you serious Lool imagine how much stronger his position on the negotiating table would have been if he was bring to belts and a scalp of one of the biggest punchers in the division , please be logical about this.

I didnt say he had success. I said Joshua suffered more damage from an older WK than Povetkin did from a younger version. Joshua just got lucky late and enjoyed a Brit stoppage. Not enough there for me to judge Joshua is superior to Povetkin in any way.

If you think a 37 Povetkin who hasn’t beaten anyone of note in the last two years is better than Joshua, then I just gotta respect your opinion and say your clearly biased. That version of Wlad would have whooped Povetkin again.

As I said Joshua got lucky vs WK. A fresher WK knocks him out quickly after that KD.

I don't think I'm a Wilder hater, but regardless Wilder gets credit. As you say Ortiz is about #5 in the division and any HW in the world should get credit for beating another top 5 guy.

I should probably make the usual disclaimer as to freak events (e.g. Ortiz sprains his ankle in round 1 and has to retire, or clearly takes a dive), but yeah.

Lol if if if, Povetkin wasn’t able to do anything with Wlad in his country. AJ would have success regardless of what version of Wlad, would he beat a fresher Wlad probably not but he would have a chance at least.

    Yes.

I would still call him a delusional, bumbling, sloppy oaf that has a toddler's grasp on the English language and only shuts his mouth when he wants to pout. But the main reason I criticise him is his resume. Ortiz may be older than we have been led to believe, he may not be as good as his boogieman reputation would dictate, but he's still a top five HW and a win over him would legitimise Wilder as a title holder and consolidate him as a top two HW.

If Wilder wins by a wide UD or even a stoppage he is #2 for sure and he can continue talking like he is talking recently.

Some people won't give Wilder credit no matter what. I criticize him when he deserves it (which is alot). But if this fight goes through and he wins he'll have redeemed himself to me a be the clear #2 of the division.

Yeah I don't want no BS shenanigans though. I think Ortiz actually stops Wilder, I won't be shocked at all if either is KO'd

I actually think this fight will go long, either late stoppage or points, if Ortiz feels the power he might be tentative like Rigo was against Loma and just try to survive and if Wilder feels the power he may use his feet and just get behind the jab. If they bang it out then your right someone better bring their PJs.

    i rate ortiz always have

passes my eye test of being a very good technical boxer with power.

lack of big fights is because he is a cheat and brings no money

if ortiz wins it will put shame on boxing and the division.

if wilder wins he should get recognition from all casuals and wilder haters

not a ****ing chance in hell of posters doing this but they should.
