Paul called out two LHW's. Calzaghe and Bhop. Well, now that Pavlik doesn't have a title the 50/50 he demanded might be doable. How about at 175? :yep

    :rofl

Hell, any weight above the minimum at which Pavlik is comfortable - whatever that is - and I like Pavlik by stoppage. That said, Williams shouldn't be calling out those guys. Calzaghe manhandles him even at this age, and Hopkins would counterpunch the **** out of Williams.

Williams would have won.when fighters duck fighters they use either one of 2 excuses.injuries or claim the other fighter priced himself out of it by asking too much.Pavlik used both.Hopkins destroyed him.took his soul.turned him into a drunk.....:thumbsup

Pavlik would have knocked Williams out. Cintron was on his way to knocking Williams out, but Goosen stopped the fight. Williams refuses to give rematches to any of the fighters to whom he lost, Magarito beat Williams into a bloody pulp, Cintron was stronger and hurt Williams, Martinez knocked Williams' head back all night, but was cheated by William's personal judges as usual.

Not sure Williams has the kind of movement to shut Pavlik out like Martinez did in the first four, nor the adaptability to come up with that left to dominate the last four. I see PW boxing in a single dimension using his faster hands, longer reach and better punch output to trouble Pavlik with those awkward shots, but I expect Kelly to get to Williams in the mid-rounds, and a 178lbs Pavlik is a last think PW wants near his chin or body. Paul can dig deep and if Kelly can score just occasionally, Williams gets the UD in a heated last few rounds, but if Pavlik can land multiple bombs, he breaks PW down to a stoppage around R10.

I wish people would stop saying Pavlik lost because of this , that and the other to Martinez. Every round Pavlik won were competitive close rounds. Every round Martinez won were clear and most of them shut outs. He adapted in the fight and cut pavliks face up because he is the better fighter. Pavlik didnt lose because of any other reason than being the inferior fighter here. Williams beats Pavlik imo.

Jack Loew will remain in Kelly's corner. Kelly does not blame Jack for losing the fight. He said, Jack didn't cut him, Jack wasn't out there throwing punches, he didn't trip his legs. He's been with Jack for 10 years and took him to a world title. Kelly took full blame for losing to Martinez.

Kelly did not blame the cut or cutman for losing to Martinez. He thinks that the cut could have been stopped sooner, but he said, he's been cut before and he's not certain if losing the weight contributed to the profuse bleeding. Kelly has used this cutman in previous fights.

He was up on the cards until the 9th. At the time of the cut, Martinez fought a great fight and executed his game plan perfectly. Kelly was able to see the first couple of punches coming his way, but was unable to see the 3rd, 4th, or 5th punch. It was at this time that he felt fatigued and was unable to get off.

Until the 9th rd, the fight was going as expected. Kelly knew he would lose the first half of the fight, but then adjust and that's exactly what was happening until the cut.

Kelly will be back in the fall at either 168 or 175. He is working with Cameron and his Dad on which direction to go.
