I think thats a correct assumption. The Klitschko fans and supporters, even the Klitschko's themselves, say that Haye stands no chance, that he has a weak chin, that he's all mouth, etc. So what would a Wlad victory mean if the opponent is so meaningless?

IMO, however, a win over a Cruiserweight champion for Klitschko, is better than wins over Thompson, Ibragimov, Brewster and other lackluster HW's. But to each their own.

Yeah, but Chef, what would the win mean anything, if Klitschko down plays Haye so much? If Haye stands no chance at all, the victory should be viewed as nothing more than a gross mismatch, and that Wlad defeated a nobody.

 

Credit for Klitschko is limited in this instance. Going into this fight, Klitschko is the favorite. Klitschko is the bigger man. Klitschko is a proven heavyweight. Klitschko himself claims that Haye does not deserve this shot; that Haye talked his way into a title shot. A Klitschko victory is what is expected. In fact, if Kiltschko wins in anything less than a spectacular fashion, it will probably be seen as a negative for him. A good big man is SUPPOSED to beat up a good smaller man rather easily.
For Klitschko to get heaps of credit for defeating Haye, it will only work in hindsight, IF....IF Haye goes on to have a credible heavyweight career after the loss.
