If Wlad beats Iggy tonight, will you recognize him as THE heavyweight champ?

I believe so. This is a defining fight for Wlad, and the heavyweight division.

I already consider Vlad as the best heavyweight in the world. Vlad will unify the titles if given a chance.

By Vlad winning tonight he will only reassure my view as him being the #1 in the world. I love that he has made it his goal to unify the titles and become undisputed. Not to mention any names but a lot of other so called champs in other divisions should take a lesson from him.

He is already considered by most to be the man to beat, but there are still 2 other guys out there that should be considered champs as well, Wlads just the best of title holders.

If peope would just watch all of Vlad's fights, they should be able to see how good he really is. He is so smooth, had every punch in the book!

I already consider him the champ too in HW division.

I think though at this point there are too many belts and sanctioning bodies to become completely unified.

I think the IBO, IBF, and WBO is good enough to call him the king of the ring in the heavyweight division

He will solidify being #1 in the world. But not HW champion. I held Lewis to the same standard when he hadn't beaten Holyfield yet.

I kinda already recognize him as the best of the champs, but there wont be a true champ until the best have fought each other.

Unfortunately for Wlad no one fight is gonna make him champ because Lennox Lewis left the boxing scene so disorganized. Wlad's only option to be recognized universally like a Mike Tyson or Evander Holyfield is to completely clean the division of anyone that anyone might think is better.

    He beat Byrd
I think he will beat Ibrigamov
    He beat Peters
He needs to beat someone with a name, maybe like a Rahman
I want to see him rematch Peters, preferably with Peters coming in light like he did against Toney the second time. That was an excellent display of conditioning and improvement by Peters. It would be the only real competitive fight for Wlad at the time too. But it really depends on Peter's conditioning.

And for God's sake the most important thing he needs to do is fight more often. Fight high ranking challengers. In the current state of the HW division the challengers are more like warm ups or stay busy fights. He needs a good highlight reel against some modern opposition.

Great post, If Wlad did everything you said in your post, I cant see how anyone wouldnt give him props, but highly doubt he will do some of the things you suggested.

Yeah thats the sad thing, the things I ask arent that much to ask of your heavyweight champion and it wouldent even need asking 20-30 years ago. The best guys would just fight each other. Looking back it seems like magic compared to how hard it seems to get them in the ring together these days.
