Povetkin's stamina ain't that good. He will be worn down and KO'd in late rounds. No reason for Wlad to force the issue there.
Like Chris Byrd, Tony Thompson, Ibragimov, and Chagaev? Wlad has no problems with southpaws, he simply paid a serious price a decade ago for underestimating Corrie Sanders. It was a learning experience and he has become a much greater fighter. Also... you think Wlad had trouble tonight? That was about as one sided of a fight as you will see.
in what month of this year will Waldo take the #2 spot of longest reigning heavyweight champions? they should delay the fight until then just in case Povetkin pulls a Corrie Sanders style bum-rush KO on Waldo's fragile mandible!!! :hey cuz there's no way Waldo will break the Joe Louis 11+ year reign!!!!
:nono Won't happen. But anyway, Wlad will take over the #2 spot beginning of August, and the dates being looked at for Povetkin are Sept 7 and 14th...so it's basically already set in stone, Wlad will be at minimum, the #2 longest reigning champ! :happy
@ those saying Wlad had trouble tonight, this looked like a cross between an exhibition and sparring Wlad eats Povetkin for breakfast
Best oponent out there but he dominates to a UD victory. Povetkin isnt a great fighter, has been protected and is lucky to live a division which isnt strong.
It may end up looking like Vitali vs Adamek. Povetkin is pretty good, but he is small and doesn't bring anything special to the table. I can't see him getting inside to get his shots off at all.
Povetkin has more success against Wladimir than all but a few of his opponents, but would pay the price and get stopped middle-late rounds, in my opinion.
