If Wlad had an iron chin, are there any HW's you'd favour over him?

The only two I can see that have a chance are Ali and Lewis.

Yes. He's a one dimensional fighter even if he had an iron chin. Besides, its not just chin, its mentality. There are fighters with abysmal chins that have a ton of grit and heart.

    Who do you favour?

He never used to be one dimensional, he became one dimensional once he started getting KO'd.

He fights this way cos of his chin, if he had an iron chin then we'd see him mix it up a lot more like he did earlier in his career and take a lot more risks.

So what are you saying, we should consider him as the fighter he was with an iron chin, or the fighter he currently is with an iron chin? He didn't used to be as difficult to hit, so its a double edged sword depending on which one you choose.

The names you mentioned would have beat him, so would Larry Holmes. Joe Louis would have troubled him despite size because of his pure boxing skill and craft, not just 1-2, 1-2 to infinity, Joe Louis would have had certain answers to that, that the poorish fighters currently make it seem like its an invincible style when its not. Mike Tyson would also have troubled him because he can't fight up close one iota and thats nothing to do with chins, thats the one dimension coming into play. Evander Holyfield at his prime would have seriously tested him for the same reasons Joe Louis could.

In addition to Ali and Lewis, I'd throw Foreman, Tyson and Holmes in there.

Really depends on how "Iron" the chin is really. Foreman and Tyson are massive punchers, and even HW's with good punch resistance couldn't take too many flush punches from them.

Other HW's who possess good engines and punch resistance would also give him trouble - I'm not too sure Wlad is a demon in the stamina department.

Can't see Tyson beating him at all.

Can't see how Tyson gets to him.

With foot speed, obviously. Something 90% of Wlad's opponents lack.

Tyson would have got to him easy. Sam Peter got close to him when he was less shop worn. Thats Sam Peter, the guy has no feet.

Bobbing and weaving. Roll forward like that and come under the jab and land his own big punch/es.

At distance, Wlad is the clear winner with his jab.

Tyson was best at mid range, again you'd have to favour Wlad due to his reach.

If they got in close then neither would do anything, because they're both **** there.
