If Wlad had an iron chin, are there any HW's you'd favour over him?

    You're underestimating Wlad's footwork.

You can roll under his jab, but he moves backwards excellently so even if Tyson did get under it he'd still be out of range.

Despite the height and reach differential involved, Tyson was always very accurate with the diving hook - I don't think Wlad could dance away from all of them.

Sam Peter was in range mate. Not a lot, but often enough to suggest if it was Mike Tyson at his peak it wouldn't be a serious issue.

Besides, this is kind of a weak premise to actually award him an 'iron chin'. It would be more interesting to give him a good chin rather than iron. Iron chins are very rare, particularly at heavyweight. Let's make Mike Tyson 6ft 5 with an 80 inch reach as well.

A young prime Tyson was great at this, he had great head movement plus was fast on his feet and had great power as we know.

And I agree with Mac Tyson would of worked his way in and KO Wlad even if he had a iron chin.

With an iron chin I think only prime Ali is favourite over Wlad.

Wlad's weaknesses mainly come from him being worried about his chin. Without that worry he would be a beast. I know it's obvious but sometimes people seem to forget just how big Wlad is by historical standards. And he's really not slow, either.

Any fighter with a world class inside game (Tyson, Frazier ect) would of beat him if there was a fair ref in the middle - whenever Wlads oppenents do get through to the inside he just holds and that really shouldnt be allowed, he hardly ever gets warned and really should do for the amount of holding he does.

    If i had a vagina i'd be a woman.
Wlad hasn't got an iron chin and he wouldn't be the fighter he is if he did.

I think people would be shocked at how limited Wladimir is against a fighter with pure boxing skill and craft. It's very, very easy to get carried away watching how dominant he is against guys that are stood there to be dominated and then try to transfer that dominance over into all-time terms. His predictability that is currently his greatest strength would be his biggest weakness.

The latter is a completely different premise though, because then Tyson is a completely different fighter.

A chin won't change Wlad much, apart from opening him up a little and letting him unleash a few of the punches he hides away.

It's just that nobody would give Haye a chance if Wlad had a good chin, the weak chin is the only thing giving Haye a chance so I'd like to see who people think would beat Wlad if we took away his obvious weakness.

Okay what about if Joe Louis is 240lbs solid and has the same height and reach as Wlad. He's the exact same fighter, he's just not outmatched physically.

I think these types of threads are pretty ridiculous regardless. You could do it with absolutely anyone to iron out weaknesses and for that reason it doesn't prove a lot unless you're willing to do it for everyone else. And if that was the case, are you any the wiser than when you were considering the matchups in reality? It's taking hypotheticals to extremes, so much so that it loses any point.

Fact is, his chin is fairly bad. But by no means is it his only large weakness.

    Louis would smash him.

Larry Holmes would make a mockery of him.

Tony Tucker would likely beat him.
