I personally feel Wlad will have almost no problem laying Thompson out, wether it be early or late he decides to finish him.

If Wlad would happen to lose to Thompson by knockout, where does that put Wlad in the Heavyweight ATG list? Should he retire? And last, but not least, who then, should be the number 1 Heavyweight in the world?

what is your suggestion? sam peter #1 heavyweight in the world? that would be awful. even if wlad had four losses he would have a pretty good resume. look how many embarrassing losses golota has and he still boxes. wlad will quit though before he becomes some kind of journeyman or gatekeeper.

If he did lose to Thompson it would remind all of his fans just how vunerable he really is.

I don't see it happening but you never truly know with him.

He seriously thought about calling it quits after his loss to journeyman Corrie Sanders, he admitted that he felt lost and didnt want to return to the ring. After training with his brother, he felt the need to comeback and redeem himself.

I really believe that if Wlad does lose, he will consider retirement again.

I think Sam would be considered the number 1 Heavyweight in the world, with Valuev and Thompson right behind him. Samuel is a very enertaining fighter with a growing fan base, he would be a good number 1 guy imo.

Wlad seems to be in a position where any loss would be a major setback for him. People criticize him for not winning impressively, for taking too much time to take his opponent out. It's like he can do no good at all. No matter what he does some people always find a way to criticize him. Can you imagine if he loses?

If he gets ko'd in his prime by tony thompson it is pretty bad for his legacy. Im pretty sure people only watch these klitschko mandatory matinees half expecting to see his Wlads legacy ruined.

Where did you get this information? It sounds fabricated. I remember the following weeks after the Sanders loss, Wvald was adamant about getting revenge in a rematch, but it didn't happen for business reasons. Maybe you meant he wanted to retire after the Brewster loss and got confused?

You may be right, though I do remember seeing a HBO segment showing Wlad talking about the dreadful night in Germany where he was blasted out of there in 2 rounds against journeyman Corrie Sanders. After the Brewster fight he made a ton of excuses for his loss, poison in the water bottle, too much Vaseline on his body, and then finally low blood sugar. I think the Brewster fight set him back, but the Sanders fight threw him off the tracks and made him look very weak and vulnerable to a heavy hitter.

peter is slow, sloppy and dull as ****.

i don't care how aggressive and powerful he is, his lack of technique is shocking.

Slow, yes, sloppy, sometimes, dull, never. Samuel might not be the most talented in the division currently, but he does bring the type of anger and violence fight fans crave. Wlad use to a be destroyer pre 2003, but since Sanders exposed his weak chin, he's been inconsistant in the excitement department, and probably lost some fans after his last fight with Iggy.

I feel Samuel is improving and will eventually become the number 1 Heavyweight in the divsion, all in due time.

absolutely right. i couldn't believe the fight with maskaev was for the wbc championship. it was like watching two cavemen clubbing each other.
