Haye wanted to fight both brothers...rematch clause is normal...this was just out of order...if haye beat Wlad he would face Vitali, and if he beat Vitali he would then rematch Wlad....he said he wanted to face a beat both brothers, so it was in the contract
Ibragimov got 50/50 IIRC and the reason was that it was a unification. This fight would be a unification so that should be a 50/50, no? Or maybe not given Wladimirs history
:rofl Haye just won his belt in a majority decision and defended it once against a ridiculous mandatory, John Ruiz who is old & hasn't done **** to earn that spot. Wlad has held 2 major belts, and the highly touted Ring magazine Championship which is to say he is the man to beat. He regularly defends against any mandatories that are foolish enough to fight him & 9 times outta 10 Wlad wins by KO. That's worth a bit more than 50% dontcha think?
Has Haye ever directly responded how thrilled he is by Wlad's challenge and how he can't wait to get this fight done? I mean all I heard from Haye and Booth so far sounds like "Yea maybe, hopefully, down the line, we'll have to see". What happened to their enthusiasm?
I agree. Sounds like he's ducking the issue now that he can make a few easy dollars fighting Don King stiffs................
Haye is very well known in the UK these days. Haye could potentially bring 40,000 live attendees, £750,000 PPV buys and the WBA title. He deserves 50/50.
Haye should gladly accept 40%. If he wins, then he can demand the higher percentage. It's already been said in the thread already, but that's the way it is.
I think it is hilarious that the same guys on this forum saying that Haye, though he is the interest/cash generator, should accept 40% are on other forums arguing for another fighter to get 50% when he is in the same position. Personally, I would say that Haye should take 40% and be happy, but these days biased judges, meaningless mandatories, and general lack of interest at HW make it a little pointless. Why miss out on the payday when you have to do bogus mandatories and vacate against guys who are nobodies? (Credit to the Klits for taking all comers.) Being the HW champ ain't what it used to be.
Haye is scared, plain and simple. He ran from the lightest punching heavyweight champion in years, in Valuev, while Ruiz, Chagaev, Barrett, etc went toe to toe with him.
