Joshua has literally fought fought low level opposition his whole professional career, and struggled last time he fought opponents at his level in the amateurs. I can see everyone turning around and saying they knew this would happen if he is outclassed by Wladimir. Do you think people will cut him some slack, or do you think people will forget about him fast and lose all the hype?

AJ knows that there is no typical step up in competition for him...although there are a few names that might be suitable.

So hey might as well jump in the deep end and if he loses? meh so what it's Wladamir Klit.

I highly doubt that Joshua will handle the loss in such bad way. He's still young and if he loses it's a loss against an experienced ATG. He could build himself up as the best HW in 2-3 years easily.

Until he's in a real dog fight the jury must be out on him. Whyte shook him to the core with one shot which to me says he will be KO'd at some point.

Aj has mastered the most important aspects of championship boxing.

He will wipe Wladimir all over the ring, I feel bad for Wladimir, he's never been abused like he's gonna be April , it's going to be a thrashing.

Aj is legit, one of the very few LEGIT elite fighters in all of boxing, elite around the boards. I feel bad for the fans that can't grasp greatness when it's slapping them in the face

Taking a loss might liberate him to take further risks in matchmaking. So fighting Wlad could be a positive for him win or lose. Win and he's beaten an ATG, lose and he can still regroup, come back and potentially dominate. Boxers with an '0' to protect can get a little cautious in preserving them. Too much made of undefeated records, imho.

The only risk in the WK match is if AJ gets destroyed...

All elite HWs get stopped at some point - Rocky aside, and that was a different era. Comes with the territory...

This AJ hype is getting crazy , people are pretty much saying he is the best of all time without even fighting a current top ten fighter.
I don't know boxing fans seem to be overly harsh when someone loses, and try and make that loss define your whole career.

yeah, but I meant near future. Not saying Wlad will be the guy but could well be. No doubt if he beats Wlad he'll go back to bums like Molina and Breazeale.

Molina 2? I reckon Hearn's working on that as we speak.... lol
Maybe if they let him wear that hat he had on for the weigh-in it could be competitive...

AJ seems to be pretty respectful so I don;t think he would get the same backlash as her..

Career wise I don't think it will affect him that much, I think many fighters like to protect their '0's' for that big payday and he would have got his..

If anything it would mean him stepping up more...

If Joshua gets stopped badly then it will definitely hurt his brand quite a bit. It would diminish his aura and marketability and also the buzz that now surrounds the heavyweight division imo. But he's young and can rebuild at least.

Exactly that,it's the Heavyweight division I wanna see em tested and see how they come back from a defeat, some folks forget that losses are supposed to be part of the game, doesn't mean they're chinny or can't box it happens at this weight class

He doesn't appear that mentally tough to me, so its highly probable.

    Right

A loss to the best heavyweight out there will not be that detrimental to Joshua's career He don't really have an impressive record worth protecting yet Lol

it will mainly cause fans to put him in a more realistic light ( he's being touted as the next great thing when he has not fought anyone yet)

As for Joshua himself, his upcoming loss, if he does fairly well and does not get completely destroyed, will hopefully cause him to regroup and start pursuing more known names Such as Ortiz Haye wilder Povetkin
