If Wlad pulls a Hopkins, where would you rank him among the ATG HW's?

Depends on the level of competition, if he beats bums like Fury or Povetkin in that time then why should he be ranked above top 10. He needs a defining win.

 

Top 3 for sure. Never gonna happen though, he'll retire at 40 or 41.

 

Depends who he fights - if he stuck around beating on bums ntil he was 47 the. No one is gonna be that impressed .

 

Age and longevity means nothing on it's own. Chris John could fight until he's 53 but unless he's beating good opponents, what does it matter? If John fought novices and guys with losing records to the end of his career, do you think anyone would rate him highly because he was beating 1-7-2 fighters when he was in his 50s? Of course not. It's irrelevant.

Quality of opposition is the only thing which defines a legacy. If Wlad beats good opposition, he'll be ranked highly. If he fights bums, he won't be.

 

Probably, but where are his big challenges? Hopkins had Trinidad, the big fight with Oscar, Tarver, Wright, Pavlik, both Pascal fights and close loses against Taylor and Calzaghe. Honest question, besides his brother who is there to enhance his legacy? You see what I'm saying, Wlad has no foil, this might keep him from being more highly thought of.

They would probably talk some **** about Wlad fighting small men and bums and this era being the weakest ever while totally ignoring the fact that good ol' Joe Louis defended his title against milkmen and lightheavies with losing records.

 

he doesnt have the abilities to fight till 47.
