If Sanders and Brewster can bounce Wlad around the ring, Frazier could easily do it. More power, harder to hit, and better chin.

Byrd (and Toney) where very skilled heavies but were undersized.

Sam was very strong but limited fighter . . . this is not a tough man competition

Haye is a very talented guy but it proves my point he did not have the SKILL needed to compete with little bros. I think if haye had a better trainer and training all (and not rely on his natural ability) he MIGHT have pulled off a huge upset. He also did not have the mentality to go threw hell to get the W. These guys are not warriors!

You know out of all the good and great fighters Ali fought the one I don't think would have a chance against Wlad is Frazier I see almost everyone picking Frazier here, I would bet alot Wlad stops him all 3 fights, same thing goes for Patterson :nod

Interesting that Sonny's name is brought up more than half a dozen times on the first page of responses alone.

It's strange, he's the first guy that popped into my head off Ali's resume as being a huge problem for Wlad...although Frazier and Foreman are better fighters and of course you have to think they'd be scary propositions for him, too.

 

About Haye: I think he is comparable to Wlad as an athlet, perhaps even better. But he lost in terms of skill, so yeah. With a better trainer he would have had a better chance.

But even if Haye stayed on the outside he did several attempts to dive in, and those two times he was able to connect with the first punch he tried to do to a Corrie Sanders on Wlad. I think Haye is a very dangerous opponent, even if he only puts pressure in spurts. It was just that Wlad neglected it, first time with his fotwork, and the second with his trademark octopus routine.

Yes Wlad runs thru thompson,chambers ,johnson the same would happen to floyd,cooper,london

 

Same record or better !! Look at the sizes height weight compared to Wlad......love Smokin Joe but at 205 he would not stand a chance.....

Frazier could well struggle with the length of Wlad and his jab, but to say he would not stand a chance? Bridge too far, IMO.

Wlad doesn't have the style or demeanor that spelled doom for Frazier. Any trouble we can imagine Joe having with his physical attributes is speculative.

 

You need to do a better job of counting! Prime Frazier was 205lbs. Purrity was a ripped 240lbs and was 249lbs for the Wladimir fight.
