Wlad also threw some right hooks against Bryd but overall doesn't use it as much as he should. he knocked down Mercer with a perfect left hook [yt]SW4Cm7M1Qi8[/yt]
Textbook example of how to throw a left hook, great reference for anybody wanting to learn how to throw a left hook. I think Chagaev's style, bobbing and weaving plus being significantly shorter than Klitschko made the left hook tactically weak in the fight, but towards the end of the fight, if you care to watch the last couple of rounds of the fight again, watch what Klitschko starts doing with his right hand; he began feigning and kind of jabbing a little bit with his right. He was using those feints and right jabs to set up leverage for a left hook. The show was over before he could throw a hook he had been setting up. Chagaev has one hell of a chin, that guy tooks some wreckingball right hands and only went down once. After I saw how tough Chagaev is I began to think he might be the type of opponent who could beat Klitschko, a guy who can take serious physical punishment until Vladimir runs out of steam, but it is also apparent that Vlad has learned his lesson about running out of steam. Klitschko boxed an excellent match. True there was not much drama in this fight but most of the times a dominate champion doesn't go life and death in a fight. Klitschko just did what he had to do, seldom letting his opponent have an opportunity to do any damage, totally frustrating Chagaev.
His straight right is just ****ing awe inspiring. It's like a missile. Straight, fast, with a ton of power behind it.
