I'm sorry I dont have ADD and can watch a fight regardless of tactics. Go watch MMA if you want a slugfest.

I definitely thought Wlad looked sickly. he usually doesn't look like that, something wasn't right about his physique and I thought he looked very sluggish.

He didn´t look sick, he was just scared. But as he has mastered the game of holding and leaning onto his opponent, it wasn´t a problem for him. He knew his friend Pabon wouldn´t do anything against his illegal tactics.

Wlad is definitely showing the signs of his age. I didn't think he looked good against Pianeta and he looked bad again against Povetkin. The time may come soon when he is ready to be taken. I was very surprised how easily Povetkin was able to cut the ring off and get past the jab to force the clinch.

But it's too early to talk retirement. Wlad even past his best his far better than anyone else in the division apart from Vitali and he clearly is still very motivated based upon his physical condition.

Prior to these 2 bad performances I thought Wlad could be champion into his 40's now I'm not so sure, the decline has definitely begun.

I can tell you one thing, neither Vitali or Vlad is scared of anyone period.

He should retire for knocking Povetkin down 4 times and winning every round?! LOL!
An American biased author claims that if Vlad were to fight someone as tall as he, he would easily lose, get knocked out, lose every round, etc. Yeah, Vlad is the worst fighter on the planet?! Vlad beat the crap out of Wach, who was 6 feet 8 inches tall, approx. 250 lbs, he was even taller than Vlad and he tested positive for steroids! Vlad knocked out Derrick Jefferson in the 2nd round, who was 6 feet 6 inches tall! Vlad knocked out Bostice who was 6 feet 5 inches tall, he TKO’d McCline who was 6 feet 6 inches tall, McCline at his prime/peak! Vlad knocked out Austin who is 6 feet 6 inches tall by only using his left hand! Vlad knocked out Thompson two times, he was 6 feet 6 inches tall, and some others in his earlier career. Vlad has power, balance, foot work, is fast, I have seen him fight beautifully! Manny Steward was threatened, called a traitor when he decided to train Vlad. Steward was extremely impressed, but the author knew much more about boxing than Steward?! Lewis vs. Tua, a dance, not to mention some of his other fights. Lewis got the crap beaten out of him when he fought Mavrovich, who was small and sick. Lewis was knocked out cold by Rahman and TKO’d by McCline. The author hates Vlad because he is so angry that Vlad won every round. If the referee had stopped some of the clinching, Vlad would have knocked Povetkin out…………..Vlad showed that he could fight on the inside, had Povetkin out on his feet. Very clean knock down in the second round with a hook off the jab. Vlad knocked Wilder down with a jab in sparring for the Wach fight. Wach would knock Wilder out. The author probably thinks that Vlad should be fighting Wilder’s opponents who are the real top heavyweights, such as Sconiers! Vlad could have knocked Povetkin out in almost every round. Vlad was never breathing hard at any time…………….Vlad has plenty of stamina, but remember, according to American biased media, Vlad is the worst heavyweight on the planet! Wilder is ranked #3 by the WBC now. Question: How in the Hell did that happen?! Name one ranked boxer he has ever beaten. Wilder has never fought a ranked opponent, but I am sure the Author would claim that Wilder is the best heavyweight of all time?! Probably…………..again, Vlad should fight Sconiers to get the author’s respect? Vlad has mentioned fighting Wilder, so lets see if it happens, or Vitali could go ahead and knock Wilder out before he retires, since American’s claim that Wilder is the top heavyweight in the world. Of course Vitali and Vlad would be huge underdogs by the American media, giving Vitali or Vlad no chance of beating Wilder, although Wilder could not compete with Vlad in sparring, could not land his right hand and his jab did not do the job either, got knocked down by Vlad’s jab! George Foreman got the crap beaten out of him by Axel Schultz, was given a split decision, but was ordered to fight Schultz again, Foreman gave up his IBF title rather than fight Scuhltz again. Vlad was the first to knock Schultz out, he knocked Schultz out in the 8th round. Mayweather has held, grabbed, etc., Lewis, most fighters in the past, depending on the fight. Let’s get this Vitali or Vlad Vs. Wilder done right now, but Wilder will not fight either, he is fighting another unranked wino! By the way, Wilder said he learned a lot from Vlad! LOL! I guess that will make the author puke! Yes, this is all the crap I have read since Klitschkos turned pro..........

You mean like when he won the Olympic Gold Medal in Atlanta, GA back in 1996, super heavyweight division?! Vlad won every round, had four knock downs, pretty good. So, any fighter who wins every round should retire?! LOL!

Excellent post. Povetkin actually did a pretty decent job as a spoiler considering the gulf in talent between the two.

He was lucky to get a gift over Clay Bey though. He was in deep trouble there, even got a standing 8. He lost that fight, but made it to the next round with judges help.

Retire! That is absurd. He easily beat Povetkin into a pulp, without really trying that hard. He will fight till someone beats him or he does not want to do it anymore.

    Retire! go to bed.

Lennox Lewis said after the fight that he thought Wladimir must have something wrong with his right hand....and during the fight, i was thinking the same thing at times.

Maybe not, maybe it was just the fight plan or because of the way Povetkin was fighting, but Wlad's right hand that he just blasts through with, I don't remember him throwing it like that during the right. He threw it some, but when he did it seemed a lot slower than normal. It was like he was just putting it out there, not really the force or speed behind it like we usually see.

    I don't know....

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. Banks told him between rounds he should forget about the right hand and power in general.

i thought something was up aswell..banks gave a few odd commands about not using power...i thought it was maybe because of the slippery ring but maybe he was hurt...who knows...he wo easily enough regardless...i noticed in the after conferance he looked abit off aswell
