If Wlad wins on July 2nd, will it finally solidify his position as an ATG?

Although i think Wlad is a top fighter and he probably gives the majority of heavy weights in history fits, he however has not faced the number 1 heavyweight during his or our time, VITALI.

Its easier to beat guys that are not on your level and look great. But we all know Vitali is the only guy out there that is not only on his level but probably higher.

I believe not having an undisputed heavyweight fighter has left a detrimental effect to the once great division.

Like it or not Wlad already is an ATG HW. Only a moron wouldn't have him ranked in the top 20.

Maybe. Haye really has not beaten much at heavyweight. IMO Chagaev and Byrd were a bit more accomplished than Haye is now.

Wlad is already hall of fame bound. I do think this win will be a signature for him though.

For the non hard-core fans Haye is the only name opponent on Wlad resume. Of course it is going to be his signature win.

wlad might become a atg by his dominance, there are several other guys who had a run of dominating weaker guys that are considered a atg, so beatinh haye will definitely help in the argument.
however if he loses to haye all will be gone because it means he dominated weak guys and lost when somebody decent showed up, a loss would really hurt his legacy bad.

I don't consider Haye to have proven a great fighter, and I think all things considered, he's not necessarily a better heavyweight than Byrd, Chagaev and Ibragimov. However, I do consider his style to be far worse for Wlad, his poison, if you will, and I'd consider it Wlad's best/signature win based on that, I think. ATG? If you mean like a top 100 p4p list, then hell no. But, I think you're at least a great fighter if you're generally considered a top 15-25 somewhere in your weight class, assuming its an original eight weight class. So, Wlad's already a great fighter, imo. Great for his time, but not an all-time great p4p man. Wlad's place is not likely to ever be based on best win, but rather dominance and consistency. Unfortunately.

Byrd, Chagaev, Ibragimov were certainly not weak guys and all were quite good heavies. Your whole career doesn't erase itself with a loss. Wladimir has a very solid resume. It's the best of any current heavyweight who isn't a dinosaur (like Holyfield). Problematically, I don't consider any of the fighters he's defeated to be great fighters. But he's got quite a nice list of good ones. His run from Williamson to the Peters rematch solidifies a nice place in history and he is generally regarded as a top 20 heavyweight right now. One loss after this extensive run is not undoing that.

You dont think guys will discredit a lot him if he loses to haye?, same will hapen to haye who will be called a hypejob I think.
Even steward feels that wlad needs to win this one to strongly back his previous wins, If he beats haye then are not many heavies left capable of beating him, he can dominate for a few years more and seal his legacy.

It would be Wlads best and most important win imo and would make me see him in a whole different light. Haye is by far the best fighter he has or is likely to face in his career :deal

Haye is not on the list because they haven fought yet!!!
Chagaev the guy is a john ruiz clone and is very beatable lets not kid
Byrd I good win for wlad
Chambers fast for a fat man i suppose what good is fast when lateral movement is not there
Ibragimov is not on the same level as seen vs ray austin
    Brock who?
Peter I Fat stood in front of wlad but still managed to do ok despite losing
Peter II silly twat thought he could do same again that jab numbed him
    Byrd II
Brewster II wlad only rematched him after he lost to Siarhei Liakhovich and was on way down
Thompson was a good knock out but hard fight

Wlads opposition have not been close to the threat haye poses and the main threat to wlad is not just hayes punch but his athleticism. when your opponent is not in front of you to be hit then it becomes harder to counter or defend haye is not a fool he didn't just talk his way into fighting wlad so he could get knocked out he is fighting wlad because he believes he has the ability to win how many of wlads opponents really had the ability to beat him?

Highly depends on the actual fight though. Does Haye go out like a random punk not landing anything himself? If so then people will have second thoughts about giving Wlad too much credit. Haye will be labeled as an overhyped former cruiserweight who got knocked out cold. He'd be soon forgotten.

Or will this be a dramatic war with knockdowns on both sides with Wlad having to fight hard to secure a victory. Then people will give him credit for beating a worthy adversary.
