He'd need to find some impressive challengers. Wlad's resume is not bad, but his best opponents (Ibragimov, Chagaev, Haye, Byrd) are all diminutive compared to Wladdy.

He needs to find 1-2 guys who are big, young, good, and hard hitting.

Well then Wladimir is #3, just behind Holmes and Louis

    Wladimir, 11 title defenses.

    Mike Tyson, 9 title defenses.

    Muhammad Ali, 10 title defenses.

Again...they are 2 SEPARATE records...Louis holds both but they aren't the same record.

It wasnt very hard to make the BHOF back then. Braddock lost like 20 fights.

I can see why people don't count Wlad's 5 WBO title defenses. Lennox was "the man" at the time, but if Wlad doesn't get recognized for those than Larry Holmes shouldn't get credit for all of his defenses because there were other people holding the other belts at the time. Larry never unified any of his belts while Wlad has unified 2 (3 depending on how you see it).

Boxing has made it like that though. They are the ones that created all of the other belts.

I think this debate is going to heat up quite a bit when Wlad gets closer to the record. Right now Wlad has 16 title defenses in total. It is not out of realm that he could fight another 10 times. Regardless, if Wlad fights another 10 times and retires he would have 21 consecutive title defenses and would be second to only Joe Louis. We would undoubtedly be in the top 10 of all ATG HW lists (if not in the top 5). The numbers are on his side as well as the H2H arguments (i.e. - size, speed, amateur background, etc.).

wbo didnt mean much back then, and like you said lennox was the man, wlad was the cleverly of the heavyweight divsion.
Counting from byrd (06) on since he bame the #1 guy is more fair therefore he has 11, its the most fair call.

Klitschkos are the very best and by far. They would have knocked Louis out easily! Holmes would have had no chance! Ali had to be saved from Henry Cooper, he had Ali out on his feet, Angelo Dundee had to cut his glove to save him from being knocked out. Henry Cooper was a very small heavyweight, very small!

I am enjoying all the Klitschko hate because it shows all the sour grapes by the haters. The haters can't stand The Klitschkos beating all their heroes. Looks as if Vitali will fight Haye next? I hope so, the haters will pick Haye by first round knockout.............watch and see...........Ignorance is bliss to them...........

The haters love their hero Chisora. He was such a nice person..........could not beat a one armed Vitali.......................

    Stupid Klit fan

If he passes 25 CONSECUTIVE, than yes, cause that's WAY MORE DIFFICULT than 25 overall. Don't even tell me I am wrong either.

WBO wasnt considered a major belt when Wlad had it in first time
