How could you knock him out if he is busy grappling and not boxing?

I think this was a bad performance, unwatchable.
I like Wlad and rate him highly, too.

    also RIP Sanders.

Mayweather is a wife beating **** but he's all class when he is boxing. Doesn't hold, will fight inside if he has to, fights clean. He hasn't had many exciting fights and I wish he'd open up more, but the only truly turgid one I remember was the Baldomir fight and even that wasn't as ugly as the Klitschko - Povetkin fight we got today.

Agreed. He even showed some effective inside punching when not holding or pushing down. He didn't have to resort to those tactics, but he pulled that shady stuff at the slightest bit of pressure. He's better than that.

Mayweather's boxing is a thing of beauty, aesthetics and perfection. Wlad is a cheat and a spoiler.

That's the thing (Ward, Hopkins, Rigo etc have faced similar criticism): sometimes, dominance isn't entertaining, but that doesn't make the fighters any easier to beat or lessen the accomplishment. I've seen the exact same thing get leveled against Ward and Hopkins as what Wlad's getting ripped for, only (ironically enough) by different sets of fans.

If they're going to get pushed to a higher level, it's up to their opposition to bring it out of them. If a dude can win by more than 12 points in a 12 round fight, or lose about 2 rounds a year, and still get paid, why would they change?

Corrie was murdered a few years back during a family gathering...

Either way, the Wladimir that he tkoed was not the Wladimir of tonight. He fought wlad before wlad learned how to fight from a distance, and before wlad started to clinch any time a fighter came in close. rewatch that fight, you'll see Corrie coming in close, and instead of clinching, wlad would throw wild hooks

The Corrie Sanders loss is one of the reason why Wlad changed his style from an offense powerhouse with an open defense, to such a safety first fighter that he is today

I'm a Klitschko fan, but he was clinching and leaning too much today.

It wasn't as bad as Kellerman was making it out to be, but I think the ref should have deducted a point earlier.

So watching a skillfull fighter dominate opponents with extreme versatility is more boring than watching a skillfull fighter dominate opponents with clinches and spoiling?

When holding becomes that excessive, and when the only punches thrown are 100 jabs followed by a straight right or left hook every now and then, any knockdowns or knock outs that happen are just some icing on a turd.

Wlad is a disgrace. A real heavyweight champion would have finished Povetkin.

Vlad is not one of the best anything of all time....much less heavyweights.

    However

He does have a place in heavyweight history....he's the only Champ that got KTFO by a member of the PGA:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl
