If Wladimir Klitschko came back & beat Joshua, how would this affect his standing?

Hearn is saying there is two possible wildcard opponents for Anthony Joshua in April, and Sky Sports have had Wlad as their main headline for the past two days. I personally think it will still be Whyte....

But let's just say Wlad announced a comeback and defeated Joshua conclusively in April at age 43. How would this affect his placement in your all time heavy list?

And for a bit of fun, if it was Vitali then the same question applies.

It wouldn’t make any difference to their all time ranking because they still wouldn’t be as good as the younger versions of themselves that those rankings are based on. The younger versions still beat them. Only Joshua’s ranking on current and future lists will be affected by any possible matchup against the 2 old timers.

That is an interesting perspective. Though I know many consider achievements as part of their criteria, and some would view this as a huge achievement.

It would be huge. He'd be the top 5 after that.

It would be a better achievement that Foreman`s KO over Moorer because either one of them would have to fight a lot better than Foreman did vs Moorer and they`ve bot been inactive for a long time specifically Vitali, wherreas Foreman had been fighting steadily from 1987 when lifted the title again, it would also depend on the style in which tey win if it`s a come from behind KO it won`t say much about their ability, most older boxers still retain a wallop, like Foreman, who was actually losing his bout vs Moorer until he set up his KO very well, Moorer`s chin wasn`t very good and he showed poor savvy in tatbout and a dodgy defense.

It would be massive, even though his younger self is clearly better than this older version.

I truly believe that Joshua is the most likely to rule the division for the foreseeable future, and if Wlad whooped him it would be a huge feather in the cap. I also believe, unfortunately, that Wlad is too old to pull it off now and that while he's aways got a chance, the odds are firmly in AJ's favour for a repeat win.

I'd love to be proven wrong. Maybe Wlad has found extra time for boxing since busting with Hayden.

His "relationship" with Hollywood sex slave Hayden was more fictional than the Beckham’s.

The Wlad skeptics and folks who don't like/don't watch contemporary boxing would just use it as proof that Joshua is an overhyped bum.

I saw Wlad spar on video post Joshua. His hand speed much slower. I doubt his stamina is the same. No way should be come back. His stock actually rose in defeat, as 41 year old, 1.5 years out of the ring seldom do well vs. the best young heavyweight in the past five years.

Joshua is not an over hyped bum, but he still has a lot to prove.

It would be seen on the same level as big old George beating Moorer .AJ would be then seen as a china chinned Brit ,and Klitschko's resume would look slightly better .But people would then say that it would never have happened in a More stronger era ,that Klitc got lucky he was facing just a easy to hit target in Joshua. And if he faced Wilder then he'd be exposed as the old relic he really is ..And all the trolls would come out and say Bla Bla Bla

If Gene Tunney came back from the dead, and defeated the current pretenders to defend his lineal championship, how would this affect his standing?

Todays Wlad could still beat the majority of the guys he defended his titles against but Joshua is much more improved now compared to the novice version he fought. Its likely he would get ironed out in a matter of rounds.
