...and fought someone else, would the Klitschko haters then respect him?

Or would they continue to bash and discredit him like they always have?

Would they then just say his next opponent was no good either because the division is bad? Would some of them then accuse him of ducking Leapai?

Or would they then respect Wladimir and stop discrediting him on these forums?

It depends who he would fight. Wladimir Klitschko is a great fighter but as a fan I'm frustrated that his belts are more important to him than his fans.

Nobody is going to make a fool of themselves and claim he ducked Lepai if he fights another high ranker.

It would be the right decision. Belts mean nothing.

I would be in favor of it if he fought a top 10 opponent.

If he fought somebody not much better than Leapai than I might just say forget it, it won't be relevant anyway, and keep the belt with hopes of getting the WBC by the end of '14.

But some of his haters say he not the real champion because he doesn't have all the belts.

Vitali will soon announce his retirement, Wlad will seek to unify with the new WBC beltholder.

If a guy like Leapai is the mandatory for the WBO title then the WBO title isn't worth defending, let Leapai fight another unworthy bum for the worthless strap.

Klitschko fighting Leapai because he is WBO mandatory holds a little more water than Golovkin fighting Adama because he is IBO mandatory...but not a whole lot.

WBA/WBC/IBF (all three have their issues but they are the most and pretty much equally respectable)

    WBO

    IBO

    WBF

    Miscellaneous other ABC's

Truth is, none of the belts have much credibility these days.

The WBA have Luis Ortiz (BoxRec #67) as their top contender, look at his opposition:

I'd pick Ortiz to beat probably 45 of the 66 in front of him, at least.
