Can the EBU get a shout out as on par with the WBF? Slightly above or below?

Take away Boytsov, though, and Leapai doesn't have a whole lot separating him from Ortiz.

There was his nice run in 2010, beating Freight Train Walker and Ding-A-Ling Wilson, but aside from those his resume is a bunch of piddle. Ortiz has victories over Gonzalez, Mendoza, Cooper and Page that stand up to any of Leapai's except those best three...and really Boytsov is the only very meaningful one.

The only guys Wlad should consider fighting are Pulev, Fury, Wilder, Perez, Stiverne, Arreola or anybody who at least has a slight chance, not guys like Leapai, Pienate & Wach.

It's just a belt. It's not the championship. I always feel a fighter should always try to do right by the fans, and bring honour and glory to his reign.

It's the circumstances that I have issue with. If he had come off a really hard and exciting fight with Povetkin, I'd say he's entitled to a soft defense. But he is coming off a stinker against Povetkin, and that was his fault I feel.

I feel as a champion he should respect the fans more, and the title more. He should have more respect for the title, which goes back all the way to John L. Sullivan. I don't believe in my heart that he is behaving like someone who is respecting the title or boxing fans.

At best, he is all too comfortable taking advantage of an opportunity in falling in with the wishes of the WBO, who don't care a damn about the integrity of the title.

At the very least, Wlad owes it to the boxing fans to get rid of Leapai in brutal fashion. If you're going to fight this level of opposition, at least give the fans something to cheer.

If this fight turns into another grab-jab-grab fest, then he deserves all manner of hell for it.

"Smokin" Bert Cooper's best win was probably Willie de Wit, back in 1987.

He lost to several of the top HWs of the 80s and 90s, such as George Foreman, Ray Mercer and Riddick Bowe. He was knocked out by Carl Williams, a couple of years before Williams was beaten by a young Mike Tyson.

    EBU recent title fight winners:

    HW- Dereck Chisora

    CW- Grigory Drozd

    LHW- Juergen Braehmer

    MW- Max Bursak

WW- Leonard Bundo, defense upcoming vs. Lee Purdy

    JMW- Sergei Rabchenko

    SFW- Devis Boschiero

FW vacancy upcoming- Lee Selby vs. Rendall Munroe

    SBW- Carl Frampton

I may take this lineup over every other than the big 4, probably IBO too...

No, I realize that. Cooper - especially in the last decade - isn't a great win.

He is still up there with all but three of Leapai's..which is really my point.

They seem to look for any excuse to bash and discredit him.

They used to criticize WK for his "inability to in-fight". Now that he dominates opinates by in-fightning they complain about that too. Personally, I'd love to see him go back to throwing 3 punch combinations and constant pressure/aggression but I'm afraid those days are gone forever. He's going to patiently jab and grind his opponent down. I respect his ability and talent but the heavyweight division would be really interesting without him. I believe the word is "parity" and that doesn't exist while WK is ruling the roost.

Leaning on opponent? You mean like Lennox Lewis used to do? Lewis used to hold, Hell, Lewis held Grant's head and hit him at the same time which is illegal, but nothing was said................

Vlad should keep the WBO title, he had to wait for years to get it back. If Vlad gave up the WBO title, the haters would worship their heroes who got it as a gift, such as Wilder..............
