I know it would be good but some posters seem to be subtly implying here that beating these records somehow makes him better than those fighters, it's a good record, and something to be proud of but his ATG status won't be lifted much unless like I said, he fought and beaten his brother.

Yes but Hopkins isn't beating Mormecks, Chambers etc. He's competing with p4p people at the age of 45 like, Calzaghe, Pavlik, Pascal, Dawson. It's not only because he is old, anybody can fight when they are old, but he's competing with really good fighters at that age.

No one of them are p4p guys, shut the hell up with this ****.

Dawson was was nearest being p4p(ridiculous bulls **** rankins) and Hopkins chose to Fight him when his career was clearly going down slide.
Pavlik, middleweight to go up in weight what 10 lbs, wont matter?
Pascal, a ****in muscle bounding Brawler with Zero bozing skills.

he is a fukin Cherry picking at finest.

He also disgraces the Sport with his every Fight he has been in for last 5 years.

  4. Joe Louis reigned for 11 years. Wlad is not even close! Plus Wlad only got the Lineal title when he won the Ring title which wasn't really too long ago.

Wlad was only recognised as the true no 1 when he beat Chagaev

Have to be fair to compare!

champs of the past defenses was when they was no 1

If Wlads wbo counts then the other guys deserve additional defenses since they was top 4 in the world

Love how you ignored Calzaghe lol because that would destroy your argument. Anyhow, even if they aren't top p4p (I didn't mean p4p top 10, I meant more like 10-20) you still can't argue with me that they are better than Chambers, Mormeck, Peter, Chagaev etc and that's at 45 mate.

The only fighter which is comparable to those fighters is David Haye so props to Wlad for beating him.

Let me just say that HW boxing is a bit different to some other division based on the fact that there is full lineage by historians

Lennox Lewis was champ when he beat Briggs for example.
    Nevermind what tv tells you.

Joe Louis has 25 defenses while being the no1 and only real HW champ of the world and thats not being touched by any of the fighters, certainly not today anyway

Wlad has reigned for 7. four years is not long at all. Who the **** cares about who ring magazine says is the lineal champ. He beat Chris Byrd who was recognized as the number 1 heavy end of story.

    he was a challenger

a challengers position can be changed if hes not even fighting

there has to be unification and 1 and 2 fighting for a true established champ, they even went against the grain due to unusual circumstances and let him fight no 3.

You see in the old days you did the same thing, beat the ranked contenders and got a title shot

no different just more plastic belts in there confusing eveybody.

Byrd was no 1 on the challenger list- he was not champion cause he had not earned the right to be considered legitimate no 1

    the title was rightfully vacant

I understand how the ring rankings work, all i am saying is Byrd was recognized as the top dog when Wlad stomped his ass, thus he became the universally recognized world champ. While it wasn't undisputed we all knew he was number 1.

That's too ironic, especially coming from the guy claiming Wlad is better than Ali :D

So you post the same **** in two threads, copy paste ***s :nut

Wlad has been #1 since he beat Byrd, we're not counting WBO's defenses.

Larry Holmes didn't get the RING belt until his 8th defense so I guess his first 8 defenses don't count either, right? :patsch
