myth... all promotional outfits do it when they're building up their fighter.

GBP don't put up better fights than TR.

Both TR and GBP are great at getting their fighters into big fights. It's sad that the lesser promotional teams like Interbox and Zeferino etc can't get their guys in with the top tier.

It's a tough situation. GBP top fighters will get their fair share of losses, but it's because they're taking on quality opposition.

That's all I am saying Reg. By feeding these young talented fighters chumps is not good for them. Or as Benny cleverly calls it "Building Superstars"

You wouldn't. Look at Bradley, even though GBP could offer him many more good fights around 140-147, he still signed with TR, even with their reputation for not having built a solid African-American star in a long time. I see this happening more, the initial lure GBP had as a fresh young company that was going to be the future of boxing is fading.

And LOL at the myth that TR builds it's fighters by feeding them a stack of bums. Maybe they do that initially as all promoters do until their fighters have developed enough to be matched with the best, but when they are good enough they are put in big fights.

If you look at their biggest stars of recent times, DLH, Mayweather, Pac, Cotto, Margarito, Pavlik, they've consistently matched them in big fights people want to see. That's how you build stars, get them the exposure and the big fights. You don't do that with meaningless Khan-Peterson fights. Now Khan is seen as having been exposed and it will be extremely difficult to rebuild his reputation. Whereas when a fighter loses a big fight against a great opponent, it's much easier to rebound from that and move on to other big fights.

De la Hoya and Mayweather were both better off leaving top rank and both ****ing know it.

Arum ****ed up Gamboa Lopez and looks like he ****ed up Mayweather Pacquiao as well after the Marquez fight.

Who knows, maybe in 5-10 years the competition these young GBP prospects faced will produce a few unified champions or HOF fighters.

Could you imagine Ortiz getting that payday with Floyd without first losing to Maidana and dropping jaws by getting up for Berto? Could you imagine Kirkland beating Angulo without first losing to Ishida and making sure he was back with Anne Wolfe? Could you imagine Juan Diaz being in the FOTY with Juan Manuel Marquez had he not faced everyone he had beforehand? Could you imagine Linares getting the respect and attention he got for fighting through a horrible cut after dominating on skill had he not taken on DeMarco? Look at Khan; how much does his stock rise if after traveling to DC and losing to Peterson, he beats him convincingly in a rematch?

Golden Boy do it the wrong way. They give them a lot of tomatoes then 1 BIG step up fight. Top rank give them gradually tougher opponents making them take baby steps to begin with.

For example-Mickey Garcia was taking his baby steps, is comfortable and is stepping up
Danny Jacobs beat a lot of poor opponents, struggled with Smith then got thrown in with Pirog and...sank.

PAC is already a star when TR got hold of him.

TR built Hoya, Floyd, Cotto into boxing stars from ground up.

Who did GBP built up from scratch?

Top Rank match makers are the best in the business. They know how to profit off name fighters that will be attractive to the public, but pose no real risk to the fighters. They;'ll always be more favored than GB because of it.
