Having fights is active. Going by what your saying Duran was only active at lightweight for 12 nights then, not fighting as a lightweight 75% of the time means that he didnt or couldnt make the weight. Duran was fighting and he was the lightweight champion so he was active..thats bull****...Exhibition fights arent set to go 10 and 12 and even 15 rounds and they dont count towards your over all record. And you dont fight a boxer with 50 fights. No, like Chavez, Duran fought alot of cupcakes im not into revisionary history...I see what it was as being what it was:good

All in all duran was 2-1 vs DeJesus, 1-2 vs Leonard, 0-1 vs Bentinez, 0-1 vs Hearns, 0-1 vs hagler. Or 3-6 vs the best fighters that he faced Im not even going to talk about the other 9 or 10 loses because most were past his prime and dont really count. That isnt the record of a guy that people are saying is top 5 all times, which is the reason that many of the boxing historians side with my views and have begun to drop Duran down the rankings...

If not agreeing with you makes me a Moron then THANK YOU.:good

Correcting my opinions??? Yeah you can do that

I feel that Duran is over rated, Im not saying that he was a great fighter he was but anyone that thinks him as being top 5 is over rating him and that my friend isnt opinion...Its becoming FACT.

No - anything to do with ranking fighters in a P4P sense, ranking fighters in different eras or different weight classes is, was and always will be OPINION, not fact.

I actually agree with you that he isn't top-5. But again that just is my OPINION agreeing with your OPINION.

It's easier to make sure you fight everyone if you have 200-300 fights.

That just doesn't happen any more.

I cant find most of my Marciano posts in the ESB search but I remember three or four of our debates because you've always had the same avatar. The following is the only one that has not been deleted http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2660555#post2660555 :?

Trolls disrupt with irrelevant provocations so you either did not read the OP & thread or your just hating. Furthermore, although I made a few Ali posts "way back" the only two I can find in the search are the following. So I would appreciate any of your trolled sources.

    He's confused.

He has his posters mixed up, I believe.

And he's always had 'Ali' issues.

I don't see a single mention of Marciano there.

Perhaps you need to get your facts straight before opening your mouth next time.

I will accept "didn't", which is a complete reversal of your original assertion.

Exhibition fights last as long as is contracted. There are no non-championship 15 round fights on his record, and only one 12 round fight during the period in question

Any sanctioned fight goes on your record

I said that Duran was unbeatable at lightweight (subjective), but he was obviously beaten once by De Jesus, a defeat he revenged twice(demonstrable). The points you make above regarding Durans record against non-lightweights is outside the scope of my "unbeatable" statement and they are therefore moot.

Talking in terms of all time lightweights yes Duran is top 3 to 5 depending on the person. However in terms of beatting the better or best fighters on your resume is really not depended on weight. If you fight at a weight and your a great fighter then you should win fights...All greats have done that except Hagler. My point is Duran didnt fight a long list of elite fighters at lightweight, and he didnt win many fights with elite fighters above lightweight, and therefore its hard to say that he is top 10 p4p.

What I said was that Duran was over rated P4P and I didnt speak of Duran in terms of lightweight, I have not changed anything that Im saying, you are....I stand by saying that Duran couldnt make the weight, why do I say that??? Because Duran once said in an interveiw that he couldnt make the weight, the reason that I said "couldnt" or "didnt" is because of just that, sometimes Duran didnt really care or want to make the weight, and sometimes he couldnt make the weight. I stated that Duran wasnt a lightweight, he had a hard time making the weight, it was the same with oscar Delahoya at jr light. I call the fight with Hiroshi Kobayashi as a fight of proof, it was a fight that was a lightweight fight and Duran didnt make the weight, that was in 1971 and had just fought on weight the month before...Duran tried to sweat off the weight but couldnt:hey
