Well I finally sat down & watched the fight. It wasnt that exciting as they seemed to have too much respect for each other. Kovalev was controlling the fight with his jab keeping Canelo off balance going into round eleven. I had Kovalev up two points, Canelo landed solid blows in round ten though not enough to take it. Up till then most of Canelo's wild swings were hitting just air. In round eleven Canelo landed a couple which rocked Kovalev. Suddenly that combination blasted Kov & the fight was over. The ko was legit enough in my book Canelo saw the opening & BOOM!! I'll give Canelo full credit he saw the opportunity & took it he won the fight LEGITIMATELY!! BUT At the time of the KO I had Kov up by two points but , as I expected the judges had Canelo up by two on two cards & a draw on the third.Had the KO not happened I fear Kov would have been robbed on the cards.BUT All credit to Canelo this time he did not need his judges he won the fight LEGITIMATELY
good man. i had it 5-5 after 10. i said canelo had landed the best punches of the fight in the 10th. i think kovalev was still under the effects in the 11th.
Jeez youre not worth talking to you do not have a clue. The boxing world saw GGG BEAT Canelo twice only paid judges and trolls like you saw it different
As I mentioned in my previous post, a fighter can only fight an opponent from his era, not one of the future, or past. No one can fight another fighter's opponents. Resume is out the door realistically, I personally go by skill. A lot of fighters today do not cut the mustard, as with some from the past. I respect your opinion.
With all do respect, why be greedy and fight again when you do not have to. It takes class to walk away on top, many greats have, Marciano, and Monzon. They want their fans to remember the best from them, boxing sure needs a cleaning up.
20-30 million is not easy to pass up, especially when that single purse is 3 to 4 times your net worth.
the ideal scenario for everyone involved, would be for canelo to fight ggg in may, let ward fight a gimme on the undercard to sell it, then meet in september. everyone gets fat, and the fans get what they think they wanted.
No but you said everyone that voted GGG on our forums polls were trolls & DKSAB. You said no one on this forum knows boxing like you do ROFLMAO Thank the Good Lord
But if you take care of your millions, why do it ? Enjoy the rest of your life with your loved ones. Getting greedy, a fighter may end up drooling all over himself, and not knowing where you are. A piece of mind is worth millions in itself. Personally, I respect a fighter who stays in his weight class, becomes the best in his division, is a great example to the youth. The fighter knows his limitations, ignores greedy money hungry promoters, lives a clean life, let's his dukes speak for him. And knows when the time is right, to walk away on top, stays retired. Too many punch drunk fighters. Having a lot of money does not matter if you can't remember your name. I hope Andre Ward stays retired, he can speak clearly, not fumble his words.
I think there's a 0% chance Ward will return...and I hope he doesn't. Cycles happen for a reason, the old guard step aside and the next generation has their time.
Nah, Ward retired at a great time, no need to come back and potentially ruin his legacy. And For what? Money? He works, he earned a lot of money anyway, he isn't flying private jets and wearing ridiculous watches, he is a sensible person who left boxing with his brains and zero intact and I like that. I was never really a fan of Ward but I do have a lot of respect for him. If Canelo has any sort of genuine courage, he will INSIST he fights Beterbiev, but it's obvious he will go to 168 and fight an old and somewhat faded Golovkin, with weight conditions and no testing LOL
