look at the Gatti-Floyd fight .Gatti tried to box with Floyd and got embarrased it probably would happen the same had he gone for broke but he could have landed a lucky shot like he did in some fights.

Second career George was very good for his age, but a bit of a fraud too.

Doing your best and trying to win but without the risk of getting embarrased.

You gotta take a chance in the ring, in life, in anything you do. You gotta to do what ever it takes to win, even if you dont and gave it everything you can to take your oppenent out you will be remembered. I know I will always remember Diego corrales for his courage and never say die attitude, hes the way every boxer should be in the ring.

True, but Calzaghe has said he see's no reaon why he couldn't fight into his fourties but that he won't. 40 isn't a career death sentence anymore.

    I Voted Go for broke.

But what if you knew that it was your opponents last fight, and he would retire after that or move up in weight?

A clear loss where you gave it your best would take you far away from the top...

But a pointloss whould keep you in the mix...hmm

If I was not confident in my abilitiy and chances to win I would use an agresive stratagy regardless of my normal style. If an agresive style is he wrong style I'm in a lot of trubble. Hopefuly I would have the confedence to change my style for the fight. My coming forward stratagy would include a lot of head movement and I'd keep my hands up because I don't want to get hit. I'm not sure I'm answering your question, but If I was a huge underdog I would do what ever gave me the best chance of winning. It seems to me that eather sticking to my stringhts or being more agresive would give me my best chance.

I'd do whatever it takes to win, minus illegal blows and rule violations.

Who comes into a championship fight thinking "Well...I could go for the win, but all least I'll try to lose in style"!?!? A real champion is going to train to fight the fight he can win, not ride a sinking ship.

Think about it this way, do we give Frazier more credit for getting DESTROYED by Foreman than we give Morrison credit for running away from Foreman? :good
