Wasn't this method tried or discussed at one time? Big problem is that everyone would have to agree on it (sanctioning bodies, athletic commissions).

The problem of 3 different scores is a weird possiblity, however remotely unlikely. Have the ref score each round and hope that matches one of the judges? 9-10,10-10,10-9 you could of course just make a draw.

I think, without a doubt, it would lessen the possibility of an influenced judge affecting a fight. It also lessens the possiblity of a "bad angle" judge overly influencing a fight (I believe they each sit at a different side of the ring).

The debate on this (boring, ugly) fight has actually begun to intrigue me since it's not the usual "more landed vs better landed" debate. I'm sick of it, as there is no answer, yet oddly compelled. It's the "is there a God" question of boxing.

Boxing is very fair. There is a very easy way to ensure the fight goes your way.

    Its called a KO.

If he stopped running around like a dancer I'm pretty sure he could have KO'd froch. The one time he caught him with a big shot froch was well and trully stunned.

Playing so blatantly for points on a fighters home turf is asking for trouble. The more he traded the more he won. He should have grown a pair and done a bit more in-combo-out. Rather than just out, jab, out, out, duck, moan, out, jab.

If you use this system of scoring, I think the judges' individual scorecards would have to be secret, meaning you couldn't point out the judge with the bad scorecard.

It was clearly a boring, close fight shown by the fact that all 3 judges scored it 7 rounds to 5.

I scored the fight 114-113 to Froch (because of the 1 point Dirrell deduction) but I scored 11 of the 12 rounds identically to the judge who scored the fight in favour of Dirrell.
