4 moths is not alot of time between such intense training camps. 8 weeks might be enough time to train but if fighters overwork their bodies they end up flat. Not to mention that for Floyd, Pac needs to make an adjustment compared to the styles he has been facing recently, Pac might need a few weeks extra for that. I've always beleived that fighters need time between mega fights because they cannot come in at 100% day in and day out. Its the same for everyone, not just Pacquiao. Think back in history when is the last time a fighter fought 2 top 10 p4p opponents back to back in less than 4 months? Fighters need time to recuperate. In an ideal world I'd like to see Pac take a stay-busy fight in March against the winner of Bradley/Perterson at 140 and then fight Floyd around early fall, at a catchweight of 144. In that kind of scenario there would be absolutely no excuses from my part. But a fight 4 months after his Cotto fight at a weight of 147 is making me doubt my pick as to who will be the winner. Not because I think Floyd is a better fighter but just cause I think Pac is facing too many disadvantages.
nah you're obviously just hating. you know that it's hard to prepare for a fighter like pbf specially if you just fought a fighter like cotto and got physical damages. besides, i don't think pac could prepare well for the fight while he's busy with the campaign period
How many months straight can Pacquiao stay on a 7,000 Calorie a day and supplement diet before it starts to take a toll on him?
No one is hating. Pacquiao's own people claim it's an easy fight. Mayweather has no problem fighting in May. Pacquiao is the one who wants to run for office which is why the fight is now allegedly at an earlier date. If Pac has a problem with the date, he should tell his promoter and trainer to stop running their mouths so much.
they're only excuses when they come out on Sunday morning. Until then its a pre-fight analysis. Thats how people pick winners isn't it?
Nobody wants to hear this. Pacquiao, Arum, and Roach all ran around claiming Mayweather didn't want to fight Pac. Whether he's ready or not, he has no choice but to take the fight. If he's that worried about it, he should postpone his political aspirations(he's only 31), and push the fight back to May.
If they fight anyway, one of them has gotta lose, wonder if theres a possibility we could get a rematch out of it.
So he is forced to take a fight where he will not be 100% ready, which is the bottom line. Thats ok, it'll still be a great fight. But I hope that win or lose for Pacquiao people should recognize this as you just have. I'm not blaming Floyd for this, its obviosuly not his fault and I never claimed he didn't want to fight Pacquiao in the first place. But it is what it is He should take a stay busy fight in March, run for Congress, and win or lose the elections he should then fight Floyd in September.
march is too soon for pac imo. even if his busted eardrum would heal immeadiately, the war with cotto itself would take its toll and pac would not be 100% even if he wants too. but if he accepted the fight, then floyd is not to blame. floyd and his team would just take advantage knowing fully well that pac is coming from a tough fight with little time to prepare.
That won't be acceptable. Pac, and his own people have backed him into a corner. I think he'll be fine. Unfortunately, he has to take the fight regardless.
I'm sorry, but that **** won't fly. Floyd was willing to fight him in March or May. Manny is the reason the fight is happening in March, not Mayweather. This is all Manny's own doing.
yes it would be pac's fault but can you honestly say that pac would be 100% by march 13? i think, if they want would had their way, they would prefer this by august or september. but floyd and his team knew that pac is committed by may and march would be to their advantage knowing pac is not fully healed after a war with cotto.
