errr entertaining sure but aren't some of you guys going a little overboard?

Did well to overcome a bad cut and showed a bit more patience than we seen before but nothing there to suggest future ATG. If anything I now think his power was a bit over-rated. Good to watch but want to see him in with a few proper contenders at LW (maybe a Katsidis or J diaz next?) before i get too excited

Loved that fight. Valero's a ****ing tank.

Did anyone else notice him boxing while moving backward during the lest few rounds? I've never seen him do that before and I thought if anyone could back him down that'd be the end of him. The man can box, now we know.

Also, I love his defense, which consists of a granite chin hidden behind a continuous barrage of punches. He seems to hold onto his power as the fight goes on too, which is great.

I'm wondering what it would take to beat him? Maybe a really, really quick boxer, preferably a southpaw, who could infight well (Paul Williams type?). He could possibly run away all night and potshot Valero, then smother him when he comes in and land good shots inside. I just don't see anyone being able to avoid Valero all night, and I don't see anyone out-pressuring him either. He's definitely the man at 135, and once he goes to 140 he'll be the man there as well after a fight or two.

He cracks the top 10 p4p list for me as well, edging out Paul Williams who I think is good but a bit overrated. Future ATG unless factors outside the ring affect him. Here's hoping they don't.

    hmm says . . .

Impressive win. I called Valero to win a while back around 7. I wasn't to impressed with the opponent he was facing so I favored Valero.

being the taller fighter and with longer reach he should of used his jab more often. Getting hit from every angle is hard to block and to try to counter a guy whos quick on his feet like valero. DEmarco had everything to fight for, in his backyard, 1st title fight he was real motivated. imo

You're going to be held accountable for those words via thread bump after a couple more dominating fights against big name fighters as he will dominate them the same way he did DeMarco. I can't agree with a single word you said with exception of the entertaining comment. Other than that....WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! Nobody is going overboard here. It's called keen observation.

So incorrect you are. DeMarco has several great qualities. And he does NOT get hit a lot. Watch some of his previous fights when you get a chance. He wasn't 23-1-1 by accident. DeMarco only gets hit a lot when Valero is his opponent. Any opponent that faces Valero is going to get a lot. Valero possesses MANY outstanding, yet subtle qualities. It takes a trained eye in boxing to see it.

I found DeMarco frusturating, but Valero put on an excellent show. He looked real good and definitely showed he's a top player in this current lw division. I don't think he has one punch ko power at 135 and he definitely has very clear flaws - however the speed is there as is the tenacity and stamina. Good win for him.

Well, I certainly don't know about unifying. You know how hard it is to make that go down sometimes. Politics, etc. But he made a fan out of me last night. Honestly. I had seen very poor quality footage of him before watching the DeMarco fight. I'm very impressed with him. Not at all what I had heard and so much more than I got to see before. He's a force.

Valero was more impressive than I thought he would be. DeMarco turned out to have a hell of a chin.

there were a lot of fighters (calling Nate Campbell) that would have gone to the ref to stop the fight after the open scoring had him ahead. Instead Valero went for a KO. To me that is a fighter I want to watch again.

I dont see what all the fuss was about. Valero could always box, he was always gonna desroy this guy...what is the fuss about?

If he did the job on Guzman/Soto/Diaz/Campbell then id be impressed. But demarco has beaten.....?

I tried to tell you guys, but you saw something I didn't lol. The man can fight, and he beat a very good fighter. Valero was too fast for DeMarco. The kid will come back, it's just that DeMarco was in wih a man in his absolute prime.

DeMarco was naturall bigger than Valero, and he showed you a chin, defense, movement, and skills that you Pac fans dread. I'm not surprised about some of the responses I've read from Pac's fans lol... Valero fought old men, gets criticized, he fights Mosquera, goes down, and he gets criticized, and now he beats a young interim champion, and he gets criticized.

Valero don't care about butts, he won't fight catch weight fights, and you have to nail him to the floor to beat him. you saw Valro's full arsenal last night, and he is fearless, something you PAc fans fear lol...
