Let's say a young kid from your country turns pro and you could end up rooting for him, wishing later that he will become a World Champion, then unify his Division and even might become HOF after he ends his career.
What skills would you pick for him to give him the best chances to achieve everything he wants.

    You can only pick

to master of all the punches:
    Jab
    Cross/Straight
    Hook
    Uppercut

    You can pick

of the physical skills that you're born with or train.
    Pick one to be

    at and another to be

the others will be considerate average.

    Speed
    Power
    Athleticism(Flexibility,Reflexes,Reaction time)
    Conditioning(Stamina)
    Footwork(Positioning, Balance, Weight-Shifting)
    Chin(Recovery-Power)
    Heart(Will-Power)

Feel free to discuss stance and defense however you'd like.

    Jab

Most important punch in the game.

    Speed (good enough)
    Power (great)

It was almost going to be the other way round, but, I thought by having great power, you'd bail yourself out in a lot of circumstances.

Thanks! I'll have a southpaw stance with a great defence (very generous of you :thumbsup)

Jab - Everything works from the jab, the most effective punch to be thrown against any style.

Footwork (great) - The foundation of any boxer. I have seen many a boxer come unstuck, amateur and pro, basically because of their footwork.
Power (good) - I wouldn't want my chosen boxer to have great power, especially after seeing a number of boxers fall in love with their power...mainly my favourite boxer of All-Time.

    Southpaw.
    Solid defense.

Since there was so much when thinking of defense like Clinching, Pushing away, Pivoting, sway, bob, wave, guard, reflexes, etc. I felt lazzy to start and talk about thinks I know nothing of, seems like same goes for you to .
    Thanks for the reply.

He'd be a welterweight with tommy hearns frame and power. Mayweather's defensive skills and counter punching. Margaritos Chin. Manny's foot speed.

Lol yeah, when I was done deciding the best punch and two physical gifts, I thought, "****, I'm ****ed without a good defence". Thankfully you made it easier at the end :good

Oh, and I'd have him as a 5ft 10 lightweight to begin with, with a frame to go all the way up to welterweight at least. Plenty of decent fights/fighters there to help build him a solid legacy.

I'll be slightly different & ignore the jab if my guy can have a devastating left hook to the head & especially to the body.

Of the physical assets I'll go for great footwork (to set up the left hook) & a good chin.

5'9 Welterweight, orthodox stance, come-forward pressure fighter with a decent defense. Might not have a long career but will be in some exciting fights.

    Jab
Heart- Great (does this include work ethic and ability to overcome losses?)
    Speed- Good enough
Stance: Southpaw (doesn't really matter that much)
Defense: Needs to be good enough to keep the opponent from unloading on him, he should also be able to defend himself on the inside very well.
6"1 ½" 168-175 boxer-puncher, accuracy and power will be required here thoug..

Yes, whatever you guys think by the concept of "Heart" I just added something there but doesn't mean I made it only that.

    Easy.

Jab, great speed, good enough conditioning.

Speed kills, everything is built off the jab and it doesn't matter if you have mythical power if you can only last 5 rounds.

I'll go with the orthodox stance and a Peek-a-Boo style.

ODLH jab, Mike Tyson style/defense, Floyd's speed & stamina from 135...except my fighter would be a HW.
