If you could change just ONE event in boxing history what would it be?

That would take more than 1(one) event.

We would just be stuck watching the big fights on Closed Circuit then. PPV is way better than CC.

I've heard people say that Ray Mancini-Duk Koo Kim really hurt the sport because sponsors started going away from boxing. This was back when boxing was on network TV and it was you would still get good fights on network TV, in addition to HBO, and CC for the really big fights. Fans literally watched a man get beat to death on a Saturday afternoon.

If that was really the beginning of the end for network TV, then I'd choose this tragedy as the event to never occur.

Taylor probably would've had a short stay at the top, regardless. Can't keep making 140, but he's too brawl happy, too short and lacking power at 147, takes too many clean shots in general, and just too much talent at 147.

Tyson does not take Holyfield lightly in the first fight, he has a proper gameplan and proper preparation camp

New Orleans....Duran fighting Leonard in Jan/81 as it should have been instead of King & Eleta throwing Duran in for the big $9MILLION in Nov/80.

It was only the California state title at stake when he drew with Garcia, and a 10 round bout (even though Garcia was NYSAC champ, which was one of the 2 major titles at that time).

Roy jones retiring after tarver 1.

Tyson not being a criminal and getting sent down.

    Bowe not ducking lewis.

Vitali not taking 4 years out.

Ali not taking 3 years out.

    Ali retiring after spinks 2.

Calzaghe fighting at lhw when woods, johnson, tarver, jones and hopkins were around.

Bruno going in for the kill when he staggered tyson first time out.

Floyd/pac still caring about their legacy.

Wlad rematching his losses instead of relying on big brother.

Haye taking the 50/50 offer when it was first offered.

Khan rematches prescot at the m.e.n.

Cus Dmato stays alive for several more years.

Ali never has a lay off.

This may be funny. Barerra is disqualified for slamming Nas into the ringpost. Think about would they have rematched.
