Ruddock used to have an awesome sharp, hard jab which he used to good effect, that's where he got his "Razor" nickname from, his jab was like a razor. Watch him again Bonecrusher in '89, pumping that jab well.

Then he fell in love with his devestating raw power, & changed from being a boxer-puncher with good lateral movement & sharp jab, to a power-orientated counter-puncher, who looked to time opponents with bombs, especially "The Smash".

 

I know he was more of a boxer early-on, he was said to have boxed very well against Mike Weaver (I never saw this fight).

But by 1991-1992, when I watch his fights against the likes of Tyson and Page, I'm just thinking "throw a ****ing jab!"

Of course he then does so against Lewis (to the body), and it gets him in serious trouble.
