Whitaker-Chavez II should have happened less than a year later, in Mexico City, with Chavez thoroughly humiliated in front of all of "May-he-co" losing round after round, with clockwork precision, just as Ramirez was shutout. In the end, the fight would have been so painfully onesided, that there would have been no excuses for the rabidly partisan, unsportsmanlike cheats who abound in that country and no way to avoid awarding the victory and the title to Pernell Whitaker. If they were rematched, and they weren't, because Chavez didn't have the balls to, you could have counted on The Pea shearing Chavez of the crown, just as a sheep is sheared of it's wool. What a travesty that a rematch never occurred.

Hopkins-Jones II on top of the list but very close second being Tito-Hoya II... Wlad vs Peter II for the HWT unification would also be interesting.

I wouldn't care much to see it right now. Although for Vernon, it would be a nice shot at redemption.

Leonard vs. Hearns II, this fight should have happened sooner than it did.

Yes but this time Mayorga has to fight and smoke his cigar at the same time and Vernon "The Viper" with one hand tied, no disqualifications and inside the steel cage!

    Amen brother....

Whitaker was his best when facing someone a second time (see Ramirez and McGirt for examples). And seeing as how he HANDILY won the first one....I shudder to think how lopsided and embaressing this fight wouldve been.

Agreed - but would the judges get it right?
