    - Kostya Tszyu in 2004 or 2005 at 140lbs

    - Antonio Margarito in 2006, 2007 or 2008 at 147lbs

    - Miguel Cotto in 2007 or 2008 at 147lbs

    - Paul Williams in 2007 or 2008 at 147lbs

    - Shane Mosley in 2007 at 147lbs

    - Manny Pacquiao in 2009 or 2010 at 147lbs

If you could've seen one of these fights, which one would it have been and why? :bbb

I choose Margarito in 2008. That would have been a war. After that, Pacquiao at 147 in 2009/10.

    Good thread! :thumbsup

Pacquiao 2012, because their trash-talking is really annoying and I'd like to finnish it.

Although Floyd is an infinitely more skilled fighter and a far greater fighter than Margarito, I still think Margo would've given Floyd a really torrid night back in 07/08.

Back then in my opinion Floyd was physically lighter, smaller and less strong than he is now, and Margarito's chin and stamina were nothing short of phenomenal.

With a huge, relentless guy walking you down and unloading with hundreds of punches per round, and with your own punches having absolutely zero effect on him whatsoever, even a skillster like Mayweather is going to feel serious heat IMO.

Agreed. I think Margarito would have run through Mayweather in 07/08. Just too tough and too many punches. He was relentless.

    #1 - Vs Pacquiao @147 09/10.
    #2 - Vs Cotto @147 07/08.

    I still wouldn't mind seeing Cotto-Mayweather.

i really like floyd to have taken on cotto way back in 2008 instead of retiring. it's almost as equal to my desire to have seen floyd take on pacquiao back in late 2010.

Cotto-Mayweather 2008 was literally perfect timing for that bout. Cotto-Mayweather instead of Cotto-Gomez...I would have loved that.

agreed. that was the perfect timing after floyd just have beaten hatton and cotto have just beaten mosley. it was the biggest fight at welterweight as well as the whole of boxing at the time. that's why i don't understand why ellerbe thinks cotto is not a draw and floyd would have rather retired.
