If you could have seen Floyd Mayweather fight 1 of these guys, who would it be?

Same here! That was such a perfect moment to make that fight, right after they were coming off of those big wins in 2007. I'm still sort of gutted that that never happened. I would still like to see that fight sometime next year if they both keep winning, but it wouldn't be the same anymore obviously.

    Pacquiao.

I was never especially interested in seeing him fight Margarito - I was always of the opinion that it would've been a mis-match. Yeah, Marg was relentless but Floyd has always had exceptional stamina and I really don't think Marg would land enough leather to slow him down.

    Terrible match-up for Margarito.

My second choice would be Cotto.

My actual ideal choice would be casa and freitas at lw instead of sosa and ndou.

But on this thread, considering pac can still happen and if both win their interim fights impressively it'll be just as big as ever, i'm saying margo. Had he returned from injury and fought the margo that shane beat there would be far less question marks about his welterweight career. His whole career could go the same and that one victory would massively increase his standing, more so than had he fought cotto instead of retiring imo.

Definitely seems so to me. ...I wish he'd do fight-night weigh-ins these days.

Cotto (Pac and May will fight).

Back then I thought he had the jab, toughness and the size to trouble Mayweather.

Looking back its obvious Mayweather would beat Cotto as hes flat footed but back then I thougt Mayweather was really small at WW, wheras now he looks like he fits it perfectly.

Pac, that fight has to happen. Good thread, highlights how many great fights Mayweather robbed us fans (and his legacy) of.

Cotto could have also been a great fight at 140 and also Hatton (after Ricky beat Tszyu, Floyd beat Gatti in same month)

Tyszu in 2004 because he was injured most of that year and we *****s love easy fights :D

In all seriousness this fight could never have happened when Mayweather was at 140lbs because Tyszu was injured, had the Mitchell mandatory and both had contracts with rival TV networks

In terms of a an interesting competitive fight I'd have liked to have seen him against Forrest or Spinks. In terms of legacy then Pacquaio/Tyszu. If he fought guys like Cotto/Margo/Williams people would dismiss them as hypejobs/overrated, Mosley would be called shot

41-0 and no-one rating him close to a top ten ATG. He missed out on not making those fights as much as we did.
