The lightweight Roberto Duran of 1978 who just beat Esteban DeJesus VS the 1987 Julio Cesar Chavez who just captured the lightweight belt from Edwin Rosario.

That would be a dream card, even the cynical amongst us would happily pay to see just one of those fights PPV!

 

My gut says Sandy is too much of a force at feather for Salvador — bigger and stronger. He’s 2 1/2 inches taller with a 2-inch reach advantage and a definite edge in power.

Sandy isn’t quite as tall/rangy as Patrick Ford, who gave Sal fits, but is a better fighter by far. While Sanchez twice handled Red Lopez, I think Sandy is a different kettle of fish as he’s not the type who waits for an opening and plays sniper … he’d force the action and turn it into a brawl.

While Sanchez could surely rumble, that’s not the kind of fight one wants to wage with Saddler.

I figure Sandy roughs him up enough to take say 10 of 15 rounds for a decision. Probably wouldn’t be a ‘pretty’ fight but it would be one helluva scrap.
