If you could reverse one fight in history, what would it be?

Maybe it was the night your hero got robbed by a bad decision or embarrassingly knocked out? Or maybe it was just a fight that you feel hurt the sport, was bad for boxing overall. Whatever the case, if you were God and could reverse one contest, which one would you choose?

For me it would be Ali-Norton III. Ken deserved it and got deprived of some serious legacy in the process. I was almost as upset at the time as Norton was.

    Tell me yours.

Because I love Barney Ross, I would change the outcome of Ross Armstrong.

Ross walks out the winner and retires as welterweight champ, ended his run with a win over Henry.

Ali vs Foreman in the Astrodome.

Why Foreman's management took the Africa fight
    location will never be known.

Ali=Foreman was my second choice. I agree, George had nothing to gain besides money for going to Africa...he was the champ and should've thrown his weight around more. He went through a lot in Africa prior to the fight and I'm sure would've been more relaxed if the fight had occured in this country.

Maybe Leonard/Hagler because 1. it convinced Leonard to hang around the sport for way too long and 2. it destroyed Hagler psychologically and he moved to the other side of the world and made Pepe le Rambo movies in france.

Hagler still pops up every few years talking about how he can't understand how he lost the fight.

The money wasn't there to make the fight anywhere else. Foreman still made a crapload of money, more than he would have taking that fight anywhere else.

Toney shouldn't have fought Jones being so obese and barely able to make the weight.

The second / first choice would have been simply to put the Foreman-Ali fight in a considerably colder place with tight ropes.

Hard to narrow it down to just one, so I'll throw this one out: Rademacher-Patterson.

Not because of any dislike towards Floyd or fandom of Pete, but because it'd have thrown a huge wrench in the division's history. It's probably the only time someone will ever have the opportunity to fight for the heavyweight title in their first fight. Had he knocked Patterson down and kept him there, it'd be positively unique in the history of the sport. The ultimate follow up to this: Retire at 1-0 as the heavyweight champ.

Meldrick Taylor against JCC. I wanted Chavez to win that fight, but as it went on it didn't look to be his night until he clocked Taylor late in the final round. If you're a fan of boxing, you all know how that one went. I don't think Taylor ever recovered mentally from that one.

Duran/Leonard II in New Orleans, combination of Duran's arrogance + his managments greed along with Don Kings treachery made for the disaster in Nov80 when they jumped onto the bait of $9MILLION from the Leonard camp for a quick rematch in November knowing full well that Duran had pigged & boozed his way up to 50+LB's over the 147 limit.

Ray Arcel told Eleta & King there's no way he can make the weight, so make the fight for Jan81, but King & Eleta ordered Arcel too get Duran in the ring for November as to much has been invested in November.

Leonards camp said it was November or nothing as they'll go for Pipino Cuavas instead for the WBA 147 title. Leonards camp wanted a weight weakened Duran in there rather than face another Montreal savaging by fit a & focused demonic Duran.

This was the start of a policy that Leonard used his whole on/off career in draining any potential foes that could upset the Leonard $$$$$ brand juxtaposed with waiting till said opponants were well passed the lethal prime:fire

Neither Foreman or Ali had fought in Africa before. Don 'Brillo Pad head' saw the commercial novelty, and both camps bought it.
