 It's just that the "Foreman only won because of the heat" view is totally ludicrous.

Hearns vs Leonard - Big Hearns fan and would love to see Tommy win this one.
Hopkins vs Calzaghe - Can't stand Calzaghe or his fans, so this would help.
Klitschko vs Lewis - You all know why.

Evander Holyfield vs Riddick Bowe lll

Not that losing to someone as physically gifted as Bowe was is such a shame, and Evander Holyfield is an ATG regardless of the result, but his legacy is so greater than that of Riddick Bowe, that is almost seems unfair that Bowe has one over him.Especially when Holyfield seemed to learn from errors made in the first fight and boxed the best fight of his entire life in the rematch - then he takes several steps back and fights an incredibly stupid fight and ends up getting stopped.

Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier l

One grossly overrated win by a grossly overrated fighter that enabled others to make an argument for somebody who, while clearly not great,to be considered as such.Without it,nobody would have dared considered him so.

Fighters who achieved far more in their career's than Frazier, who, unlike Frazier, fought almost every worthwhile contender of their era and didn't spend the majority of if cherry picking their way around the division, don't receieve anywhere near the undeserving plaudits that Frazier himself has received. And why? Because they don't have that one great fighter to leech and sponge off of.

    George Foreman vs Michael Moorer

Similar case to Frazier and Bowe, really. One win that elevated a fighter to a status that he doesn't belong anywhere near. Before Moorer,Foreman was just a former heavyweight champion with an extremely padded record. He was as much of a cherry picker in his prime as he was during his comeback years. He routinely avoided top contenders throughout both stages of his career, and only when the rewards were high did he ever step out of his comfort zone.

He deserves credit for being able secure a victory over a world class fighter in his prime, but it's still just one win,at the end of the day.It certainly doesn't erase the fact that he missed out on all those other contenders during his career, and it shouldn't be enough for him to be considered, like Frazier is,in the top five lists of these ATG lists.

    Roberto Duran vs Iran Barkley

Truthfully,Barkley was the better fighter on the night. He wasn't dominant and decisive in victory, but he was certainly deserving.Besides a strong finish and knockdown on Duran's part,Barkely was in clear control for the majority of the fight. And he didn't do it by muscling and overpowering Duran, but by simply boxing him.

Morales-Barrera II - That decision was bull****, Erik won that fight & deserved the decision.
    or
Morales-Diaz - Erik edged Diaz but the hometown judges denied him history to become Mexico`s first 4 weight champ.

Barrera III & Maidana could have easily gone his way too, those guys never beat Morales in those fights but a draw is fair in those fights also.

    Wow, can't agree with that.

He fought Holyfield, Ali, Norton, Lyle, Frazier- all of whom are top flight Hall of fame level HWs. Not to mention beating solid b listers like Chuvalo, LeDoux, Peralta, a heavyweight Qawi, Tommy Morrison....

Foreman didn't avoid fighters, he was trying to get the biggest paydays he could. True his record was somewhat padded by football players and nobodies but he fought some of the best heavies in recent history.

I was gonna say Duran-Leonard I because Duran gets overrated by it, but thats in the wrong spirit. Roberto Duran was a monster and an incredible fighter, I just don't think he's the H2H great at 147 people think he is off of one fight. Leonard fought stupid, Duran had a transcendent night and was already a superb, masterful fighter...that equals an ass kicking.

My official answer is gonna be Corrie-Sanders vs. Wladimir Klitschko, because that one fight more than any other for any great champion today is gonna get him underrated forever. I'd remove Rahman from Lewis in the same vein. We have a legit top 15 heavyweight who may be on his way to punching a top 10 ticket fighting today and I feel like even history will deny him credit for a loss thats going on a decade ago.

Jim Jacobs and his battle with cancer.

Tyson stays the course and remains true to his world tour. He fights and defeats Bruno in England, Damiani in Italy, Holyfield in Vegas, Rodrigues in Brazil, Ruddock in Canada and Foreman in Vegas.

My choice would be one no one else would come up with. Tom "Roughhouse" Fischer gets in a lucky shot on Michael Dokes on the Holmes-Ali undercard and finishes him off in an incredible upset. Fischer gets a title shot against Holmes on free tv- and becomes the ultimate underdog/"Rocky" challenger- losing in a clear and gutsy fashion while going out on his shield. Meanwhile, we're spared the whole Dokes/Weaver I and II fixes and maybe not have to deal with that end of the drug problem in the division.

My second choice would be "Fearless" Freddie Pendleton outboxing ATG Pernell Whitaker for the 135 lb title and turning the boxing world completely upside down.

    Definately Rose vs Rudkin.

Lionel had so much problem making weight that he was literally killing himself before fight time. A move to featherweight following the Castillo bout could have provided a second world title to Rose.

Alan Rudkin would hold the bantam crown, yet ultimately, Ruben Olivares would have to be met.

Olivares did Rose little favour in their encounter either.

    Great fighter.

    GREAT era.
