If there was one fight you could see next year, what would it be? Please contribute your own ideas if mine don't quite match up.
You're right....I should've included that. Would like to see JuanMa earn a fight against Vasquez first by fighting Rafael Marquez. That would give us a gauge as to whether he can knock people out on an Elite level. I would guess he can, and, if he has anything left, I would say Marquez would give JuanMa more trouble than Vasquez. I love Vasquez and Marquez (vasquez moreso) and they're true warriors, but every so often there's a Foreman-type fighter who comes through the ranks and blows away a couple of proven, durable championship-level warriors. I'm thinking it could be JuanMa. Still, I'd want Vasquez to win! I chose Montiel-Mijares. I just think it would be a classic.
Out of the list Wlad-Haye. Apart from that Kessler-Dawson Angulo-Kirkland, Williams-Margo, Pac-JMM III, Martinez-Angulo, Campbell-Diaz II, Campbell-JMM, Vazquez-Marquez IV, Vazquez-JuanMa, Mijares-Donaire plus loads more.
Margarito-Floyd. I know it will never happen, but damn, if there ever was a fight that I just can't predict how it will go, it's this one.
Mijares-Montiel Possilby Pacquiao-Marquez III depending on if Manny decides to drop back down to 135. For sentimental reasons, Hopkins and Jones have a rematch 16 years in the making and both retire after the fight. I'd go with this one even though it would clearly be the least action-packed of the 3 I chose.
Your ideas are just fine, but the one fight I want to see more than any other is Marque-Pacquiao III.
If Cotto can outbox Margarito for 6 rounds, then Mayweather can keep away for the full 12. However.....Margo throws so many punches, would Floyd be able to catch them all? I'm thinking maybe Floyd K.O's Margo just to shut everyone up! Although I'd say there's 99.9% chance of that NOT happening....
I actually think a third will be more decisive. You know Marquez is going to be going for the K.O as he knows that is the only decisive way to beat Pacman in Vegas.......which means, either way, someone's getting K.O'd. Marquez has got increasingly aggressive in the last couple of years, whilst retaining his counter-punching.....you get the feeling though that he could still make SFW, and that Manny is more comfortable at 135. I see Manny winning it decisively this time. If it ever happens that is. If he fights Oscar, then Hatton and wins both, I could see him ending his career with JMM.
